Dear Conservatives,
Starting TODAY, Planned Parenthood facilities throughout the state of Texas will no longer receive Medicaid reimbursement funding through the state government.
Which means state taxpayer dollars will no longer fund abortions in Texas.
This decision comes in part because of David Daleiden’s brave testimony in a San Francisco courtroom less than 2 years ago.
As you may remember, David and the Center for Medical Progress are being sued by Planned Parenthood.
In November of 2019, David testified that Texas Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast offered to sell baby livers to him for $750.
That’s right, during his undercover investigation, David got abortionists to agree to sell aborted baby organs and then testified to that in open court.
And Texas took note, using David’s videos as the basis for its finding that Planned Parenthood is not a "qualified’ provider" under the Medicaid Act, and therefore ineligible for public funds from the Medicaid. Planned Parenthood challenged Texas in court and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against Planned Parenthood, finding that David’s videos gave Texas good grounds to exclude Planned Parenthood from Medicaid funding!
Now, they’ve stepped up and blocked Medicaid reimbursements to Planned Parenthood – worth millions per year in taxpayer dollars according to recent estimates.
This is a huge victory for the pro-life movement!
It was only because of your generous support that David Daleiden is still in the fight to expose Planned Parenthood and not sitting in a San Francisco prison cell.
Texas’ actions prove that you’re making a difference in the fight for life.
The Thomas More Society will continue to battle for the rights of unborn children and I hope you continue to stand with us.
Gratefully,
Andrew Bath
Executive Vice President and General Counsel
