Assembly Judiciary Committee will meet Saturday, June 1 at 8:00am. There could be a vote.

MESSAGE: Vote NO on SB221 which is defacto gun registration. Only honest law abiding citizens will submit to the background checks for private transfers of firearms through a dealer-run background check. SB221criminalizes private transfers of firearms without a dealer-run background check. Violations of this law could result in a loss of Second Amendment Rights. Barack Hussein Obama Financially Supporting a Worldwide Christian Genocide of Women and Children

Members of the Free Syrian Army reportedly attacked the Christian-dominated al-Duvair village in Reef on the outskirts of Homs on Monday, where they massacred its citizens, including women and children, before the Syrian Army loyal to Bashar al Assad intervened on behalf of the Christians.

This reported attack comes shortly after intense fighting in the city of al-Qusseir over the weekend, in which Bashar Al-Assad's forces inflicted heavy casualties on the rebels.

Was Obama ever eligible or suitable for the presidency?

(May 30, 2013) — Well-known political pundit Dick Morris ispredicting that the IRS’s targeting of groups seen as oppositional to Obama’s agenda will be his undoing.

Earlier on Thursday, Morris stated that putative Attorney General Eric Holder will be forced to resign over the Justice Department’s recently revealed surveillance of journalists. In testimony to Congress on May 15, Holder stated that he “was not involved” in the Justice Department’s accessing of telephone records and emails from reporters, but it became clear days later that Holder had personally signed a warrant naming Fox News Washington correspondent a “criminal co-conspirator.”

After two judges refused to approve the warrant without Fox News receiving notification, the Justice Department then went to a third judge to obtain its desired result.

The revelation that Acting IRS Commissioner Douglas Schulman visited the White House at least 157 times during the period in which conservative groups were being targeted with tax audits gives us the first real indication of the extent to which this scandal reaches into the White House.

The incredible frequency of the White House visits -- essentially weekly -- indicate that Obama must have been deeply involved with the inner workings of the audits and harassment of conservative groups. If Schulman was in the White House every week, what was he there to talk about?

Not ObamaCare. Not without having HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in attendance, you wouldn't. About Treasury issues? Deficit reduction? Not without Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner.

The obvious reason is that Obama was following the IRS audits with an obsessive, personal involvement. Apparently, the Citizens United scandal so galvanized him into action and tapped so deeply into his psyche that he was determined personally to supervise the castration of the wealthy people and groups whose access to the political system was opened wide by the Court.

Turkish Muslims Begin Construction of $100 Million American Mosque

On Wednesday, May 15, 2013, Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan placed a ceremonial stone on a 15-acre construction site in Lanham, Maryland that will likely become the largest and most striking examples of Islamic architecture in the western hemisphere.

The TACC Center will consist of five main buildings: a masjid constructed using 16th century classical Ottoman architecture that can hold 760 worshipers; a two-story, 19,990 SF Cultural Center Building including a 220-seating performance hall; a 9,850 SF recreational building with a 180-seat restaurant and traditional coffee shop; a 43,450 SF traditional Turkish bath for up to 22 people at a time and indoor pool and sports center; and 18,500 SF of guest housing including 16 one-bedroom apartment units.

Last Tuesday, the Senate Judiciary Committee passed their markup of the Gang of Eight's "immigration reform" bill - a version that not only preserves most of the bill's original problems, but also contains 233 additional pages of rules.

Senator Ted Cruz says that the bill only makes our current immigration problems "worse." Sadly, he holds the minority opinion as he was one of only five Senate Judiciary Members who opposed S. 744's exit from committee.

However, despite wisdom and warnings, the immigration bill will soon be moving forward very soon - in fact, we'll likely see it brought to the floor after the Farm Bill is decided next week.

This means that we have relatively little time to fight this "immigration fix" and all of the bad language within it... namely, its provisions for a national biometric database, the pathway to a National ID card.

This very dangerous language currently found in the Gang's Plan must be removed, else our Constitutional freedom be greatly compromised.

I feel the need to add to this post as it is obvious a lot of people take up this topic with some heavily preconceived notions and biases. I am shocked to learn I think women cannot be breadwinners. That is what the left says, but it is not so. Even now I am getting beaten up for suggesting women should stay home with their kids. While I think it is preferable, I also know it is often impossible. I know from first hand experience.

Prior to having kids, Christy and I both worked. Once we had our first child and I was making a full time go of RedState, Christy had to work if we were to have insurance. Frankly, we could not make ends meet on my salary alone and, even after the cost of day care, had to have the remainder of Christy’s salary to help make ends meet. We still struggled.
