and just in case you wondered about Mr. Cain's reference to Madison being 'ground zero' for this battle, here's an interesting piece on just why the Democrats are desperate to keep the Unions:

My mom, a black woman, when we were living in an east Baltimore ghetto, cried upon hearing Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz were getting a divorce. My parents, four younger siblings and I loved watching the Andy Griffith show.

“I Love Lucy” and “The Andy Griffith Show” represented something good and wholesome; a sense of right and wrong. Andy (Sheriff Taylor) was my hero. He always knew when to sternly enforce the law and when to grant a little grace.

What has become of “that America”, where right is right and wrong is wrong; where good behavior is rewarded and bad behavior is punished?

Average MPS Teacher Compensation Tops $100k/year

[ Milwaukee , Wisconsin ] MacIver News Service – For the first time in history, the average annual compensation for a teacher in the Milwaukee Public School system will exceed $100,000.

That staggering figure was revealed last night at a meeting of the MPS School Board.

The average salary for an MPS teacher is $56,500. When fringe benefits are factored in, the annual compensation will be $100,005 in 2011.

'Fully loaded' SUV puts D.C. Council Chairman Kwame Brown on the spot

Several weeks after Kwame R. Brown was elected D.C. Council chairman in November, city officials were asked to order for him a "fully loaded" Lincoln Navigator L with a DVD entertainment system, power moonroof and polished aluminum wheels.
It had to be black - all black, inside and out - and it had to arrive in time for his inauguration Jan. 2, never mind the District's projected $400 million budget shortfall.
Later, when he was asked on television why taxpayers should foot the $1,900-a-month lease payments, Brown (D) said he had merely requested a black sport-utility vehicle and was driving the vehicle that the District had procured for him.
E-mails written by members of his staff and city officials - and obtained by The Washington Post through the Freedom of Information Act - tell a different story, beginning with a Department of Public Works solicitation in November for a 2011 Lincoln Navigator L series, an extended-wheelbase version of the Navigator. The e-mail specified "Fully Loaded Required" and indicated that the vehicle was being sought at Brown's request.
Paul D. Craney, executive director of the D.C. Republican Committee, asked why Brown is leasing a luxury vehicle when the city is under serious financial pressure.
"It shows his set of priorities, and it's totally ridiculous to anyone who pays D.C. taxes when they hear this type of story," Craney said of Brown.

A hardline Muslim cleric who sparked anger across the U.S. with his anti-American comments in a television interview this month is to hold a protest outside the White House.
British extremist Anjem Choudary - who once said 'the flag of Islam will fly over the White House' - has announced he will lead a demonstration calling on Muslims to establish the Sharia law across America.
The rally, planned for March 3, is to take place just weeks after his on-screen row with Fox News presenter Sean Hannity.
Mr Choudary, 43, called Americans 'the biggest criminals in the world today.'
The former leader of outlawed group Islam4UK told the Daily Star 'we expect thousands to come out and support us.'

What do Greece, England and the rest of Europe have in common with Wisconsin and all states who don't have the right to work outside of a union? They are all in the grips of Union blackmail. Whose fault is that? It is the direct fault of the politicians who give in to the demands of the public employee unions on the threat of strike, but also in the hopes of garnering loyal votes for the next election. It is also the fault of the politicians who abdicate their duty to make law and negotiate contracts and hand that duty over to the un-elected arbiters of binding arbitration. And whose fault is that? It is the direct fault of the people who would allow politicians to squander their hard-earned tax money and give into the demands of union mobsters, or any other special interest group, that demand that they be able to "dip" their hands in the public till.

With Obama “asking” Abbas not to raise condemnation of Israel in the UN Security Council instead of announcing that he would veto any resolution, this is coming true right now. Soros is part of the story.
