I had the opportunity to converse with a representative of the Las Vegas casino operators and leaned the following:


One local Casino group recently ran an ad wherein it was made known that Station Casinos had recently hired 1,000 new workers.


There was great difficulty in hiring as the first question asked by applicants was: "Will I continue to be eligible to receive my unemployment checks?"  When they were given a, "no," to their question they withdrew their applications and walked out!


One person close to the casino operators heard, "To hear 1,000 people was extremely difficult as unemployment money stood in the way. People would rather draw unemployment than gain employment!"


This is exactly why Democrats want to add even more time to the Unemployment Check scheme as it is just another way to get people 'on the dole!'
