POLITICAL DIGEST 02/01/2012 CONSERVATIVE

I post articles because I think they are of interest. Doing so doesn’t mean that I necessarily agree (or disagree) with every—or any—opinion in the posted article. To be completely open and honest if either Mitt Romney or Ron Paul were to gain the Republican nomination to run against Obama I would NOT vote for either! Gingrich or Santorum would be my choice.

Ron Paul's campaign of almost isolationism and legalizing drugs is beyond my imagination.

Mitt Romney's constant lies directed towards Newt Gingrich are not only abhorrent but are sinful as well. Gingrich DID NOT resign in shame as he resigned to spare the Republican Party from belittlement due to the numerous ethics complaints filed by Liberal Democrats. Although Gingrich was initially fined, that fine was lifted as he was found not to have done anything wrong!

The ESTABLISHMENT within the Republican Party and Mitt Romney should hang their heads in shame! Romney should bow out after delivering a speech with sincere apologies to Gingrich. The Republican Party should get behind Gingrich and stop catering to MONEY!

The Republican establishment makes claim that Gingrich is 'hot headed' and unworthy of their backing. I would prefer a 'hot head' with the spunk to fight for me rather than a liar!

The fate of our nation is at stake and the sooner that is realized the sooner we can elect someone with the strength to get this horror story turned around!

At this time we have the biggest LIAR in history in the White House. I, for one, will not vote for another liar so Romney is OUT in my book!

Soaring Beef Prices Force Shoppers To Find Other Foods

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- At Cappuccio’s Meats in the Italian Market, the cuts of beef are cutting into the profits.

“Every week when I talk to my suppliers, I’m amazed by how much it’s going up,” said owner Domenick Crimi.

Beef prices soared more than 10 percent last year according to the Department of Agriculture, and they will likely go up at least another 5 percent this year.

“It bumps up a bit, comes down a tiny bit, then it bounces again, and when it bounces, it goes up another dime, 15, 20 cents,” said Crimi, “and sometimes that’s in a week.”

Darrell Issa threatens Eric Holder with contempt

House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) threatened Tuesday to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress if the Justice Department did not provide certain documents in response to the committee’s subpoena.
In a letter to Holder, Issa wrote that “this committee will have no alternative but to move forward with proceedings to hold you in contempt of Congress” if Holder and the DOJ didn’t produce documents they demanded relating to the Fast and Furious gun-walking scandal.

The Tonopah Solar Company in Harry Reid's Nevada is getting a $737 million "loan guarantee" from Obama's Department of Energy. (Taxpayer money, what else?)

The project will produce a 110 megawatt power system and employ 45 permanent workers.

That's costing us just $16 million per job.

One of the investment partners in this endeavor is Pacific Corporate Group (PCG). The PCG executive director is Ron Pelosi, who is the brother of Nancy's husband.

He is the uncle of California's Lt. Governor Calvin Newsome.

Don't ask any questions, folks; just move along, nothing' crooked going' on here.

It looks like it's all over in Florida. Even before the voting has begun in Tuesday's primary, polls show Mitt Romney with a comfortable lead. If the former Massachusetts governor wins by a respectable margin, it would be completely understandable to take it as confirmation that he needs to stick with his campaign strategy.

It would also be a colossal mistake.

RHODE ISLAND AND CONNECTICUT OPPOSE LOSS OF 110.000+ JOBS TO ILLEGAL ALIENS

RI VOTERS OVERWHELMINGLY SUPPORT IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENTIn a poll of 500 likely Rhode Island voters, nearly three-quarters say that illegal immigration negatively affects the state. They also overwhelmingly (72 percent) opposed an executive order signed by Gov. Lincoln Chafee that prevents police from participating in the federal Secure Communities program when they arrest or detain an individual they suspect is an illegal immigrant. Likewise, the poll showed that 71 percent Rhode Island voters oppose giving in-state tuition subsidies and/or admission of illegal immigrants to public universities and 73 percent oppose allowing illegal immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses.

There are believed to be roughly 35,000 illegal immigrants in Rhode Island with 24,990 of them in the workforce. There are 59,200 Rhode Islanders currently unemployed. In addition to costing U.S. Citizens jobs, illegal immigrants are costing the state an estimated $278.2 million while only contributing a high-ball estimate of $11.9 million in tax revenue.
