The Media Research Center’s just-released study of the Big Three networks’ evening and morning programs finds that, when it came to assigning blame for lack of a debt ceiling resolution, ABC, CBS and NBC’s coverage has placed the overwhelming majority of the blame on Republicans.

Instead of presenting both sides of the debate, the networks consistently attacked the one plan that would allow the debt ceiling to be raised – the Republican Cut, Cap and Balance plan.

Instead of doing their job by informing the public of the facts on the ground in Washington, our liberal news hacks continue spewing liberal talking points. They blame and savage Republicans and Tea Party Americans while misleading the nation with a steady stream of liberal propaganda and “gloom and doom” reports of default and seniors not getting social security checks.

I admit it.

I've been intrigued with Texas Gov. Rick Perry as a potential GOP presidential candidate.

I attended his most recent inauguration in Austin.

I've been impressed with what those who know him well say about his character.

I liked that he called for a prayer rally in his state with co-sponsorships from the American Family Association, Jim Dobson and Family Research Council's Tony Perkins.

That was until the left decided that the social safety net was actually a wealth redistribution platform. The social safety net slid into the welfare state, a program of subsidies for reliable Democratic voters at the expense of the general public.

Now the Social Security Trust Fund has been looted and FDR II is threatening that benefits won't be paid if congress doesn't commit to another extended deficit spending binge. Not on behalf of the social safety net, but the nanny and the welfare state.

GOP Bill Would Prioritize Payments to Debt Interest, Social Security and Military Pay

A group of congressional Republicans unveiled the "Ensuring the Full Faith and Credit of the United States and Protecting America’s Soldiers and Seniors Act" on Tuesday. The legislation would require the Treasury secretary to prioritize payments on interest on the national debt, Social Security and military pay.

"What our bill would do is it would instruct the Treasury secretary in the event that the debt ceiling is not raised prior to August 2 to make certain obligations priorities so that they will be paid in full, on time, and without delay," Sen. Patrick Toomey (R-Pa) said during a Capitol Hill news conference announcing the legislation.

President Barack Obama's conduct during the debate over the debt ceiling has divided the country and will inflict damage that will last well after the battle is over, former New York Stock Exchange director and Wall Street stalwart Ken Langone said.

While he believes a debt deal will get done and in fact favors a plan closer to what the Democrats are proposing, Langone told CNBC that Obama's behavior has been "unpresidential."

"He is dividing us as a nation," Langone said. "He's not bringing us together. He's willfully dividing us. He's petulant."

The co-founder of Home Depot [HD  35.35    -0.275  (-0.77%)   ] sharply criticized the president for promoting class warfare through his repeated attacks against "fat cat" business executives and his targeting of tax loopholes.

In sum, the behavior is symptomatic of Obama's disrespect for the office he holds, Langone said.
