U.S. Attorney says Justice Department will challenge Missouri anti-Sharia law

No state would be contemplating anti-Sharia laws were it not for Sharia's political and supremacist aspects, and its elements that are at variance with Constitutional freedoms -- notably, its denial of the freedom of speech and the freedom of conscience, and of equality of rights for women and non-Muslims. But it is doubtful in the extreme that the Obama Justice Department will give the anti-Sharia side a fair hearing. It will rule that such laws violate religious freedom, without considering Sharia's political aspects in any way.

Excerpt: Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi escaped a NATO missile strike in Tripoli on Saturday, but his youngest son and three grandchildren under the age of 12 were killed, a government spokesman said. The strike, which came hours after Gadhafi called for a cease-fire and negotiations in what rebels called a publicity stunt, marked an escalation of international efforts to prevent the Libyan regime from regaining momentum.

Henry Blodget over at Business Insider has a grim look at some charts from Mary Meeker of Kleiner Perkis — charts that Blodget says show America’s debt problem is so bad the only answer is raising taxes and lowering spending.* How bad is that? Blodget’s headline says “the U.S. is screwed.”
Blodget writes:
The presentation shows that we spend a lot on Education and Defense, but that isn’t the real problem. The real problem is Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid (especially Medicare and Medicaid). These programs are wildly more expensive than any other budget items, and they’re also growing like weeds.
As Mary’s charts show, there’s almost no chance that we can “grow our way out of the problem.”

Ron Paul, the most visible libertarian in the US (in the guise of a Republican), has said he thinks that sending illegal aliens home where they came from is not "humanitarian." Now it seems the Libertarian Party is following this same kind of reasoning.

Libertarians say they are for getting the government out of our business.

But when we trade with China as if it were an equal (overlooking the differences in worker and environmental laws) or accept Mexican illegals, we are in fact doing so with the government's help and the tax payer and working stiff pays the damages for these devastating policies.

The national LP is for illegal immigration (they say no one is illegal), abortion, and legalizing drugs. It is getting harder and harder to differentiate between these "freedom" lovers and their leftist counterparts.

The insanity on mainstream this morning is at an all time high..or low. I watched several panel programs this morning: and the pundits were playing the Obama line at full volume.

Every program seemed focused on the racism twaddle and slander. It is astounding to me because the racism issues and problems were played first and relentlessly by the Obamas and their team of anti-American haters. The jackass attended and mingled for 20 years with the most shocking racist Church and congregation I could NEVER have imagined. I don't have to remind you guys of all the instances of racsim exhibited in videos we were not intended to see and statements made by the First Moochers during and since the election that installed them illegally in our White House.

Bachmann Dismisses Debt Ceiling Warnings

Rep. Michele Bachmann on Sunday disputed the claim that the country would go into default if Congress fails to raise the debt ceiling in the coming weeks.
The Minnesota Republican has been one of the most forceful voices on Capitol Hill against lifting the $14.3 trillion debt ceiling. The Obama administration has warned repeatedly that a failure to lift the cap would have dire economic consequences, potentially raising interest rates on the debt and interest rates on loans for everyday Americans while bringing the country's creditworthiness into serious question.
Bachmann, though, said she's not pushing for default. She said the Treasury Department should be able to rearrange its finances to make debt payments first.

Republicans Are Pursuing a Wider Field for 2012 Race

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Republican leaders, activists and donors, anxious that the party’s initial presidential field could squander a chance to capture grass-roots energy and build a strong case against President Obama at the outset of the 2012 race, are stepping up appeals for additional candidates to jump in, starting with Gov. Mitch Daniels of Indiana.
“I’m getting letters from all over the damn country, and some of them are pretty moving,” Mr. Daniels said in an interview last week at the Capitol in Indianapolis, where his friends believe he is inching closer to exploring a candidacy. He added, “It can’t help but affect you.”
The first contests of the primary are about eight months away, and most of the candidates have yet to fully open their campaigns. But some party leaders worry that Republicans are making a bad first impression by appearing tentative about their prospects against Mr. Obama and allowing Donald J. Trump to grab headlines in the news vacuum of the race’s early stages.
“The race needs more responsible adults who can actually do the job,” said Fergus Cullen, a former chairman of the New Hampshire Republican Party.

In response to recent criticism by yours truly of a pair of special interests who helped Harry Reid propel Sharron Angle to the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate last year, Peter Hennessey of Carson City writes: “What is wrong with having won the endorsement of the Club for Growth and the Tea Party Express? That is exactly the platform a real Republican SHOULD run on.”

I agree 100 percent. In fact, I’ve been a supporter of Club for Growth since its inception a dozen or so years ago, long before it was “cool” to support Club for Growth. Still am. After all, here’s what CFG stands for:

· Club for Growth wants to reduce income tax rates.

· Club for Growth supports death tax repeal.

· Club for Growth supports limited government through limited spending.

· Club for Growth supports Social Security reform with personal retirement accounts.

· Club for Growth supports expanding trade freedom.

· Club for Growth wants to end abusive lawsuits through medical malpractice and tort reform.

· Club for Growth supports replacing the current tax code.

· Club for Growth supports school choice.

· Club for Growth supports regulatory reform and deregulation.

I mean, what fiscal conservative can argue with that? Which is exactly the point.
