"Defunding ObamaCare" measure as an amendment to the Continuing
Resolution Bill.

            King's amendment would, in essence, defund
            ObamaCare totally and retroactively by eliminating

If Congressman King's proposal is rejected, there is a "Plan B."

Representative Denny Rehberg's amendment attacks the

Some Fed Members Talked About Cutting $600 Billion Bond Program

Some Federal Reserve officials last month raised the possibility of scaling back the Fed's $600 billion Treasury bond purchase program out of fear that a strengthening economy could spur high inflation.

The minutes from the Fed's Jan. 25-26 meeting were released on the same day that the government reported that a measure of wholesale inflation rose in January at its fastest pace in more than two years.

Still, Fed officials unanimously concluded at the policy meeting that inflation wasn't a problem yet, and decided to stick with the pace and size of the bond-buying program. The bond purchases are intended to invigorate the economy by getting Americans to spend more.

The central bank also raised its forecast for economic growth for this year. The fear among some critics of the bond-buying program is that as consumers and businesses spend more, prices will rise at an unhealthy pace.

Minutes of the closed-door meeting released Wednesday showed that a few members said it might be appropriate to reduce the size of the program or slow it down if economic data point to "a sufficiently strong recovery." The minutes never identify members.

Congress Must Derail President Obama's Backdoor EPA Power Grab

In last year’s budget, President Obama called for Congress to enact cap-and-trade legislation, using a slush fund to disguise the cost of the program.  But cap-and-trade was decisively rejected in the 2010 election, so this year President Obama’s budget simply funds the EPA to move forward with regulating greenhouse gases on its own – against the clear wishes of voters and without any legitimate legislative basis.

Congress must take responsibility, step in, and stop this power grab.

One day after the election, President Obama told us this was coming:  “Cap and trade was just one way of skinning the cat; it was not the only way.  It was a means, not an end.  And I’m going to be looking for other means to address this problem.”

Now his budget makes clear how the skinning of the cat – by which he means American energy consumers who will suffer skyrocketing prices – will move forward.  It’s on Page 146 of the Obama budget: “The administration continues to support greenhouse gas emissions reductions in the United States in the range of 17 percent below 2005 levels by 2020 and 83 percent by 2050.”  Those just happen to be the same levels required by the failed Waxman-Markey cap-and-trade bill.  In other words, Obama is telling the EPA to just pretend the bill passed and regulate away.

Along with directly boosting EPA funding for these unauthorized greenhouse gas regulation, Obama’s budget also calls for $25 million in funding for state global warming regulation.

MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin unions geared up Wednesday for a second day of powerful protests designed to pressure lawmakers to halt a sweeping anti-labor bill that would essentially strip workers of their collective bargaining rights so Gov. Scott Walker and the Republican-controlled Legislature can control the state budget.
Thousands of students, teachers and other workers clogged a hearing for hours and camped out at the Capitol overnight, and so many teachers called in sick that the Madison public school district had to cancel classes Wednesday.
While other states have proposed bills curtailing labor rights, Wisconsin's measure is the boldest step by a new Republican governor and Legislature to solve budget problems by confronting organized labor. It would end collective bargaining for all state, county and local workers except for police, firefighters and the state patrol.

House Begins Debate Over Plan to Chop Spending for Remainder of 2011

Republicans have kicked off what is expected to be a weeklong debate on the House floor over their controversial blueprint for reducing spending by $100 billion over the rest of the 2011 budget year. 

The Democratic majority in Congress last year never passed a budget to manage spending for the federal government for the fiscal year that runs Oct. 1-Sept. 30. As a result, Congress has been approving short-term extensions of 2010's budget. 

Congress has approved a continuation of that budget to keep government operating until March 4. If the House, Senate and President Obama cannot come to an agreement before March 4 for the rest of the year, that could trigger a government shutdown. Though Republicans are not saying they are willing to do that and prefer to force deep cuts in spending, they haven't ruled it out.

"It's obviously still a possibility," said Rep. Paul Ryan, chairman of the House Budget Committee and Republican point-man on spending. 

"Never before has Congress undertaken a task of this magnitude, but never before have we been faced with a deficit crisis of this scale," House Appropriations Committee Chairman Hal Rogers, R-Ky., said in a written statement.

A slim majority of Republicans are still in disbelief that President Barack Obama, now in his third year in office, was born in the United States and therefore is legally eligible to be president, according to a poll by the Democratic firm Public Policy Polling.
The survey looked at whom these “birthers” prefer in the 2012 Republican presidential primary contest. Among the 51 percent of Republicans who think Obama was born outside of America, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee was preferred by 24 percent, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin by 19 percent, former Speaker Newt Gingrich (Ga.) by 14 percent and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney by 11 percent.
Romney’s performance improves greatly among the 49 percent who think Obama was born here or are not sure. He takes 23 percent among that group compared with 16 percent for Huckabee, 11 percent for Palin and 10 percent for Gingrich.
Huckabee leads with 20 percent support among Republicans overall, followed by Romney with 17 percent, Palin with 15 percent and Gingrich with 12 percent.
The nationwide survey was conducted Feb. 11-13 among 400 Republican primary voters with a 4.9-point margin of error.

Border Patrol Controls Just 44 Percent of South

A new report says only 15 percent of the southern border is air tight

While they've made strides in arresting illegals and building a fence along the U.S.-Mexico line, the Border Patrol only has "operational control" of 44 percent of the southern border, and of that only 15 percent is air tight, according to new General Accountability Office report.

The GAO said that the Mexican border with Texas has the most holes, especially between Fort Hancock and Brownsville, where 70 percent to 90 percent of the state line is at the two lowest levels of protection, "monitored" and "low-level monitored." The GAO said that efforts to detector stop illegal immigrants from crossing there were poor. "Border Patrol reported that these two levels of control were not acceptable for border security," said the GAO.

White House Ignores Interest Payments in Claiming to Control Debt

The Obama administration's statement that the government will not be adding to the debt by the middle of the decade clashes hard against the facts, Republicans say, leaving officials straining to justify the budget claim they've pushed repeatedly over the past few days. 

As it turns out, the administration is not counting interest payments. That means the budget team plans to have enough money to pay for ordinary spending programs by the middle of the decade. But it won't have the money to pay off those pesky -- rather, gargantuan -- interest payments. So it will have to borrow some more, in turn increasing the debt and increasing the size of future interest payments year after year. 

So how then, visibly agitated Republicans asked, can the administration claim that its 2012 spending plan sets the country on a course to "pay for what we spend" in just a few years? 

"We're still going further into debt, massively," Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev., told White House Budget Director Jack Lew at a budget hearing Tuesday, accusing the administration of "double-talk." 

Anyone who gives the budget chart a cursory glance can see the debt will continue to skyrocket under the White House proposal. In fact, the long-term outlook shows the public debt -- which isn't even the entire debt -- soaring from about $11 trillion this year to nearly $19 trillion in 2021. Driving that increase is the fact that annual deficits will never fall below $600 billion.

As the Obama administration welcomes participation by the Muslim Brotherhood in the new Egyptian government to be formed, reports have surfaced that the Brotherhood is now directing its terrorist minions to use the Sinai as a staging area for new terrorist operations.

According to Israeli intelligence officials, Hamas and al Qaeda fighters, under the operational control of the Muslim Brotherhood, are now using North Sinai as a base from which to launch large-scale attacks on both Egypt and Israel.

While Israel remains a favored target, the new terror strategy is also designed to push Egyptian forces out of the northern and central regions of the Sinai Peninsula and bring Egypt’s border with the Gaza Strip under Palestinian control. An Egyptian retreat would also allow Hamas to fully eliminate the Egyptian blockade that impedes the organization’s smuggling routes into Gaza and restore them back to full operation.

The Thomas More Law Center, yesterday afternoon, filed a petition with the U.S. Supreme Court, asking that it reverse a Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals decision which upheld San Francisco’s virulent anti-Catholic resolution. 
San Francisco’s resolution, adopted March 21, 2006, refers to the Vatican as a “foreign country” meddling in the affairs of the City and proclaims the Church’s moral teaching and beliefs on homosexuality as “insulting to all San Franciscans, ” “hateful, ” “insulting and callous, ” “defamatory, ” “absolutely unacceptable, ”  “insensitiv and ignoran.”

According to Catholic doctrine, allowing children to be adopted by homosexuals would actually mean doing violence to these children, in the sense that their condition of dependency would be used to place them in an environment that is not conducive to their full human development.  Such policies are gravely immoral, and Catholic organizations must not place children for adoption in homosexual households.

The Obama budget is abusive. To us certainly but the onslaught to our children and the unborn is an assault to us all. Our debt now equals our entire economy. The debt currently is $15 Trillion dollars and goes up every second. On a good year we take in $14-15 Trillion dollars. That does not include our unfunded liabilities, which are over $100 Trillion dollars. $5 Trillion of the $15 Trillion has occurred since Obama became President. In summary, we are broke and Obama came out with a budget that totally ignores our federal financial condition and the will of the people expressed last November.
The budget proposed by Obama proposes $1.6 Trillion in new taxes over the next 10 years, starting in 2011. He proposes a $50 billion high-speed rail boondoggle. He proposes $77 billion for the Department of Education. Always good for votes on Election Day. I wonder if Ayers was in on that one. He wants to increase the budget 22% for the Department of Energy, which produces no energy. How about a 30% increase for the EPA? Are you okay with that? More rules and regulations to impede business. How about $150 billion for research grants?

What if the greatest scam ever perpetrated was blatantly exposed, and the US media didn’t cover it? Does that mean the scam could keep going? That’s what we are about to find out.
I understand the importance of the new WikiLeaks documents. However, we must not let them distract us from the new information the Federal Reserve was forced to release. Even if WikiLeaks reveals documents from inside a large American bank, as huge as that could be, it will most likely pale in comparison to what we just found out from the one-time peek we got into the inner-workings of the Federal Reserve. This is the Wall Street equivalent of the Pentagon Papers.
I’ve written many reports detailing the crimes of Wall Street during this crisis. The level of fraud, from top to bottom, has been staggering. The lack of accountability and the complete disregard for the rule of law have made me and many of my colleagues extremely cynical and jaded when it comes to new evidence to pile on top of the mountain that we have already gathered. But we must not let our cynicism cloud our vision on the details within this new information.

Nine months after President Obama authorized a broad expansion of benefits for those caring for service members severely wounded in the nation's two current wars, none of the assistance has materialized and it is caught up in a bureaucratic tangle that could shrink the number of families eligible for the help.
Obama made care for military veterans and their families a priority in his role as commander in chief, and in May he signed into law a measure that for the first time would give cash assistance, counseling and fill-in help known as "respite care" to people overseeing the convalescence of wounded troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.
As veterans and their families looked on during a White House signing ceremony, Obama called the Caregivers and Veterans Omnibus Health Services Act a "major step forward in America's commitment to families and caregivers who tend to our wounded warriors every day."

TALLAHASSEE - The lead author of a proposal to overhaul the state Medicaid program said Tuesday that if the federal government rejects the plan, Florida might become the first state to withdraw from the program and instead craft its own, pared-down alternative.
The statement by Sen. Joe Negron, R-Stuart, underscored how serious members of the Senate say they are about reining in costs of the program, which provides health-care for low-income patients. Medicaid is expected to cost the state more than $22 billion in the coming fiscal year, which begins July 1.
While Negron shied away from the phrase "opt out," he was apparently referring to a provision of the federal law that allows states to leave the program altogether.
"If the federal government elects not to allow us to manage the program the way we believe is in Florida's best interests, then we'll operate our Medicaid program with our resources," Negron said.
If the state were to leave the Medicaid program, it would lose all federal funding, which covers more than half of the current system's bills. Negron said the state would use its own portion of projected Medicaid spending to provide what benefits it could, giving priority to "those on Medicaid that we believe are the most vulnerable and need the most assistance from us."

Israeli's Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman says that "Israel cannot ignore these provocations," according to ynetnews.com.
Lieberman added that the warships was "a provocation that proves Iran's nerve and self-esteem is growing from day to day."
Iran announced plans to deploy warships near Israel and dock at a Syrian port for a year, IsraelNationalNews.com reports.
A senior Israeli official tells the site that "Israel will know how to deal with it."
