BLM Solicits Public Comment on Controversial Water Pipeline Project

A series of public meetings on the plan to transport water from rural Nevada to Las Vegas is expected to draw a diverse group of allies trying to stop the controversial project.

Dozens of ranchers, farmers, hunters, tribal representatives, business owners and conservationists are expected to voice their opposition to the plan at the Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) first gathering tonight at Pioche Elementary School, 180 miles northeast of Las Vegas.

Vice President Joseph P. Biden, in a closed-door meeting 
with Democrats yesterday on Capitol Hill, was widely 
reported to have slammed fiscal conservatives by saying we 
"acted like terrorists" in the debt ceiling negotiations.

I am incensed that you and I, as committed fiscal 
conservatives, would be categorized with people who use 
violence, murder, and other detestable tactics to achieve 
their ungodly, ruthless ends.

I am so very happy to live under a compassionate administration.  While those of us who are retired and depend largely on our social security checks, have forgone our cost of living adjustment for the past two years, and this because of our growing financial crisis, the President of the United States has recognized the strain that the economic crisis has caused and in an effort to reduce the burden on the taxpayers, has instituted the financial constraints outlined in the table below.

As you peruse the table, you might want to ask, “What does the ‘Director of African-American Media’ do?” 

Another question might be, what did these people accomplish for the taxpayer since their being on the public dole that would warrant increases of from 17% to 86% when our national debt continues to soar unabated AND our Social Security receipts have been eroded by the policies of this administration?  Can we continue to afford Obama’s big cars – big cigars spendthrift approach to governing?

THERE IS NO LONGER JUSTICE IN OUR COURTS FOR MILITARY HEROES

We are pained to share with you that the Army Court of Appeals has upheld Michael’s conviction and denied him a new trial.  The appeal process took over two years (six months longer than is allowed by law) and their ruling was an absolute punch in the gut to justice for a young man who fought so bravely for this country.

Back in March of 2009 the sting of Michael’ conviction was eased somewhat by the knowledge that critical evidence was not heard at trial which made us hopeful for a successful appeal.  During the trial, from beginning to end, the military argued Michael executed the al-Qaida cell leader Ali Mansur while he was seated on a rock.  But in their appeal brief the military changed gears and argued that it didn’t matter how Mansur was killed because Michael lost his right to self-defense the moment he pointed his weapon at Mansur.

A federal judge who owes his lifetime appointment to Barack Obama today concluded that a pro-life organization whose leaders criticized a politician for supporting Obamacare for funding abortions just might be guilty of defamation – and possibly worthy of jail time.

The ruling comes from Judge Timothy S. Black in Cincinnati, who refused to dismiss a case brought by former U.S. Rep. Steve Driehaus against the Susan B. Anthony List organization, which had criticized the congressman's vote for Obamacare.

The judge, who cited Google as a source for one footnote of his ruling, said, "Upon a careful review of both of the [Congressional Research Service] memoranda cited by the parties, this court fails to identify any affirmative statement that the PPACA [Obamacare] includes taxpayer funded abortion."

A second terrorist attack on soldiers stationed at Fort Hood, Texas in under two years was discovered last week, and its plotter, Private First Class Naser Jason Abdo, was arrested before the attack could be carried out. The latter fact, of course, differentiates this plot from the successful attack carried out by Major Nidal Hasan in November 2009, when the Army officer and Islamist radical gunned down thirteen people – including a pregnant woman – and wounded thirty-two more, while yelling “Allahu Akbar!” after receiving counseling and religious justification for the attack from the Yemen-based, American-born al Qaeda cleric Anwar al-Awlaki.
