Obama's Vision for Gun Owners

The left are pushing back hard in the wake of the George Zimmerman trial outcome. This briefing spills the beans on this new form of attack against your gun rights.

A court has just upheld new reporting restrictions and regulations on gun owners the Administration is road-testing in border states. Their next phase of Second Amendment undermining are "Stand Your Ground" laws now in effect throughout the country – an attack on your fundamental right to defend yourself when you're in danger.

Stand Your Ground: States with Stand Your ground laws recognize that if you are somewhere that you have a right to be and someone threatens you with imminent harm, you do not have to retreat. You can stand your ground and defend yourself.

There's a good reason for this. Retreating from a threat can make you more vulnerable. You have to turn your back and run. What if the criminal gives chase? What if he's faster than you? What if retreat wasn't your best option, but in the aftermath the courts argue that you could have retreated? Suddenly you're the criminal for defending yourself.

The Syrian Crisis

There is much discussion on the crisis in Syria on the news of the day. Since Bible prophesy discusses Syria in the later days, I considered it appropriate to speak my mind here. While I know that many hold respect for my knowledge and words, I also know that when it comes to Biblical prophecy, many hold differing views than myself, as even some of my trusted friends differ with me. I accept the challenge.

First, I wish to cover where we are politically as the United States. Barack Obama has asserted that he will be making a "limited" attack upon Syria with or without Congress's permission. The U.S. Constitution grants power to Congress to decide when America shall be committed to war, Article 8, Sec. 11, to wit; "Congress shall have power ... to declare war." Should Congress make a declaration of war, it shall be the president who shall lead such war declared by Congress, Art. II, Sec. 2, to wit; "The president shall be commander in chief of the army and Navy of the United States." There is no authority provided within the U.S. Constitution for the president to initiate war without permission from Congress.

Don’t Worry About Obama’s Credibility… That Was Gone Long Ago

I am disgusted with a lot of right-wing bloggers and websites as I write this. As soon as Barack Obama makes a decision to do the right thing, everyone starts to pile on. We were piling on before because there was a real chance that his decision could start World War III. I for one am happy that we now have a chance to avoid this.
The big story is now the irreparable damage that has just been done to Obama’s credibility. It’s just another excuse to pile on.
Why is everyone acting like Barack Obama had credibility to begin with?
The only place where Barack Obama has a serious amount of credibility is with those who drink his Kool Aid in America. Outside of the U.S. he is not accepted in the same regard, at least not by the countries that really matter.
The Kenyans laugh at us every day because they know where Barack Obama was born. There is a place called Hawaii in Kenya (true story) so Obama isn’t technically lying.
What Putin and Russia think of Obama is common knowledge. They are giving Edward Snowden refuge for Pete’s sake. And all the while they have listened to Obama whine about it. All of the hostility did not start with this situation in Syria.
Egyptians have called him out for funding terrorists. Do you not think the rest of the world has noticed that?

Shower Her With Jewels

World leaders lavished President Obama and top administration officials with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of jewels, artwork and other extravagant gifts last year, the State Department disclosed Thursday.

Most of the gifts are turned over to the National Archives and Records Administration or the General Services Administration (GSA), though recipients are allowed to retain many for official use or buy them for their personal collections.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton appears to have received the most expensive gift, described as “white gold jewelry with teardrop rubies and diamonds containing a necklace, a bracelet, earrings, and a ring.”

Bestowed upon Clinton by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, the jewelry is valued at half a million dollars. It is pending transfer to the GSA, according to the State Department.

The complete list of 2012 gifts, to be published in Friday’s Federal Register, includes dozens of gifts to the president. They range from the relatively modest – a 41-inch saber from the president of Mongolia, valued at $440 – to elaborate presentations, such as a collection of art, photographs and other items from Italy, valued at $124,000.

A German Foreign Policy.com reports that the German government, in response to the UK Parliement's 'no' vote, is no longer weighing military options against Assad.

The article says that general public rejection of hawkish David Cameron's desire to commit UK forces is what changed minds in Berlin. I think we need to credit the Brits in part with Obama's decision to ask Congress for permission to do what he initially wanted to do without constitutional authority.

But we also need to thank assorted bloggers and reporters like the brave AP reporter Dale Gavlak and the equally brave UN observer Carla da Ponte, both of whom reported that the Syrian rebels had chemical weapons, dampening the claims that Assad is the sole possessor of such weapons and detracting from the official story that his forces released the deadly gas that killed over 1000 last week.

We will never know to what extent the contributions of these people helped avert a dangerous conflict between the Western terror sponsoring nations on the one hand and the Russia-China-Iran axis on the other.

Wow. Bayer has just sued the European Commission to overturn a ban on the pesticides that are killing millions of bees around the world. A huge public push won this landmark ban only months ago -- and we can't sit back and let Big Pesticide overturn it while the bees vanish.

Bayer and Syngenta, two of the world's largest chemical corporations, claim that the ban is "unjustified" and "disproportionate." But clear scientific evidence shows their products are behind the massive bee die-off that puts our entire food chain in peril.

Just last month, 37 million bees were discovered dead on a single Canadian farm. And unless we act now, the bees will keep dying. We have to show Bayer now that we won't tolerate it putting its profits ahead of our planet's health.
