It’s been labeled “the most lobbied bill” of the 2011 legislative session, and you’ll get no argument from me. I’ve personally never been lobbied on a bill as strongly as I have with this one.

So it must be about something really, really big…right? The budget? Education reform? Health care? Welfare? Child care? Public safety?

Nope. Junkyards.

I…kid…you…not.

SB407 is a bill relating to towing companies, the tariffs (fees) they charge, and the storage of automobiles that have been in an accident or stolen.

The Players:

On one side is a Henderson towing company, SNAP towing, its owner, Bobby Ellis, and their lobbyist, former Assembly Speaker Richard Perkins.

Why doesn’t Janet Napolitano’s TSA just start using prison inmates to conduct grope downs and naked porno scans of people traveling through US airports? It would save a lot of time and money, and it wouldn’t be a departure from the fact that TSA workers have worked hard to maintain their reputation as thieves, perverts and criminals.

Yet another TSA agent has been caught engaging in criminal behavior. The regularity with which this occurs makes it look like committing felonies is a prerequisite to get a job in airport security.
"A Transportation Security Administration officer at LAX has been arrested for stealing from a traveler’s suitcase," reports KABC.

NAPOLITANO 'SITS ON' INFO FOR UNKNOWN REASONS

President Obama’s Department of Homeland Security endangered the lives of federal officers by waiting months to alert them of a notoriously violent Salvadoran gang’s plots to murder Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and their families.
The written memo warning ICE agents in the U.S. that the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) had specific plans to kill agents and their families in Virginia and Maryland. The problem is that Janet Napolitano’s agency sat on the intelligence for two months while federal officers risked their lives to protect the nation.
As early as March the FBI obtained reliable information that a high-ranking MS-13 gang banger in El Salvador ordered the hit on ICE agents and their family members, according to Homeland Security sources. The FBI informant also said that MS-13 members who killed any ICE agent in Maryland or northern Virginia would get a $50,000 reward.

***Action Alert*** The Tennessean Newspaper
Is “Feeling the Heat”

Dear Conservatives,

Apparently, the thousands of calls our members from across America have made this week (regarding the recent release of the documentary video produced by Americans for Peace and Tolerance) to the Tennessean Newspaper have struck a raw nerve.
Click Here for the paper’s editorial released yesterday in an effort that can only be described as a bizarre attempt to “double down” in order to assert they are right regardless of the facts involved.

For example, in the paper’s editorial they make the following statement regarding Awadh Binhazim, (Vanderbilt University’s Adjunct Muslim Chaplain), “For Binhazim to explain to his listeners that many Muslims worldwide are draw (sic) to Shariah law is not to say he endorses Shariah law.” It’s clear they’re giving Binhazim a major pass here. Such a statement insults the intelligence of not only Tennesseans, but all Americans who are learning more and more about the dangers of Sharia Law and many who follow it.

Now compare the Tennessean’s position to Binhazim’s actual dialog with a questioner at Vanderbilt University as captured in the documentary video:

Question: “Under Islamic Law, is it punishable by death if you’re a homosexual?”

Binhazim: “Yes. It is punishable by death.”

Question: “As a practicing Muslim, do you accept or reject this particular teaching of Islam?”

Binhazim: “Well, the question of accepting and rejecting teachings of Islam really I don’t have a choice as a Muslim to accept or reject teachings. I go with what Islam teaches.”

Only in America! Any other group openly espousing the death of homosexuals would be summarily run out on a rail at Vanderbilt University! And yet Binhazim is still there spreading his hatred while Vanderbilt and the Tennessean faithfully stand by his side. This is clearly not acceptable.

We have a very simple request for the local paper in Nashville: Post the link to the documentary video!!

Or do they fear that by doing so, the public will be able to cut through the Tennessean’s rhetoric and make up their own minds? So far, the answer has been yes.

Why would the Tennessean go to such great lengths to demonize the facts in this documentary video?

Could it be that it simply doesn’t “fit their narrative”?

The Tennessean seems to be on the verge of desperation. The level of vitriol and misinformation in their editorial yesterday reached significant heights even by the Tennessean’s standards. They have been exposed spreading falsehoods and instead of coming clean, they are doubling down.

THE DRACONIAN MOVES BY OBAMA - BE CAREFUL

INTERNET BATTLE UNFOLDING

In case you haven't noticed, the Internet battle of the century has been shaping up this week. This will be, I believe - in this time and these concrete conditions, one of the most critical battles for the future of humanity and this planet in this century. That is because it concerns the future of the Internet and whether it will remain free and open. After Tunisia and Egypt I no longer have to harp on the power of the Internet as it is presently governed in making social revolution. After the uprisings in North Africa all are aware of that power.

It is against that backdrop that the Obama administration renewed it's two pronged assault on the free Internet this week. This time the measures they are seeking to implement are even more draconian that those that were thwarted in the fall.

On Monday 16/5/11, with a host of White House dignitaries present, including his Sec State & AG, the Obama Administration unveiled its "Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative." Without going into details, let me just say that they've now added some new 'features' to the plan they unveiled and I critiqued last year [Obama's Internet Coup d'état].

Excerpt: President Obama gave what was billed as an important speech on immigration last week near the border in El Paso, Texas. Unfortunately, it was one of the most demagogic moments in recent presidential history. Nearly everything Obama said was either factually incorrect or deliberately misleading. Why, 28 months into the Obama presidency, is there now a sudden push to pass "comprehensive" immigration reform? After all, from 2009 to early 2011, Obama had large Democratic majorities in both the House and Senate. Why hasn't Obama already rammed through his own immigration bill, as he did with health care? The answer, of course, is that about 70 percent of the American people consistently poll against the president's initiatives on illegal immigration. Obama simply did not want to sign an easily passable bill that would earn him further unpopularity. But now he has lost the House. A close re-election bid looms. The president is enjoying a sudden bounce in popularity after the capture of Osama bin Laden. He needs to firm up his base of Latino supporters. Presto: time to blame Republicans for his own past unwillingness to get a bill through his Democratic Congress.

OIL IN NORTH DAKOTA BEING SHIPPED TO OTHER NATIONS ! AMERICA DOESN'T HAVE REFINERIES TO HANDLE IT!

This is the area we goose and duck hunt in in North Dakota . This has more oil than the Saudis have and we have to sell it to refineries in Middle East as we do not have enough refinery capacity in U.S. to keep the economic impact we need. It would take 10 years to build a refinery if we could due to the tree huggers.

I crossed western ND a couple months ago and was amazed at all the oil works going on. Williston is booming with Halliburton and other oil company equipment every where. Hotels are full of workers and trailer courts of 8x30 campers are going in. It is a real boom town compared to the last time I was there. I didn't understand how they drilled laterally and I appreciate the information.

I think that one reason that it is booming is because much of the drilling is on private land in a business friendly state.
