Advocates for higher taxes to fund bigger government in
Nevada are in overdrive trying to persuade taxpayers that the 2015 legislative
budget game is over and we should just bend over and “take it like a man.”
As the argument is going, the governor’s $7.3 billion budget
has already been reviewed and approved by the Senate Finance and Assembly Ways
and Means Committees and, therefore, are a done deal and cannot be
reopened.

| Conservatives, John McCain is at it again... McCain has already announced yet another run for the U.S. Senate in Arizona - where his approval rating among Republicans is in free fall - and he is desperately trying to portray himself as a staunch and reliable conservative. It's a laughable claim, of course. But it's also no laughing matter for those of us demanding real accountability and leadership at this critical juncture in our nation's history. The reality is this claim could not be further from the truth, and the American Conservative Union (ACU) has called out John McCain for cherry-picking its ratings to propagate it. While Team McCain has cited a 91 percent rating from ACU for 2014 in recent social media posts, his lifetime average is much lower and he scored an ABYSMAL 52 percent for 2013. |

The governor’s refusal to compromise

- We’re down to the final days of the Legislative Session and one thing
is clear: Gov. Brian Sandoval is not interested in compromising on
three key issues.
As he gave his State of the State address, Sandoval laid out three priorities that he actually campaigned against during his run for re-election: the largest tax increase in state history, passing a modified version of the margin tax and a massive expansion of government.
Those three issues are obviously interrelated, and Sandoval has refused to compromise on any of them.
