MUTH'S TRUTHS 12/01/2012

ALMOST FORGOT…

I know, I know. I’m supposed to be on vacation. But we actually don’t leave until tomorrow morning and I forgot something…

The most important project I’ll be working on during my mini-hiatus in December will the Mt. Reagan Project. We want to submit our naming proposal to the Nevada Board of Geographic Names shortly after the first of the year. I’ll begin sending email updates on the project to everyone who signed our online petition shortly.

On another subject, Republican State Sen. Michael Roberson has struck again. In a press release issued yesterday, Moderate Mike announced his support for Gov.Brian Sandoval’s proposal to award driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants.

Moderate Mike is quickly becoming Gov. Sunny’s “Mini-Me.” And his liberal Republican lieutenants, Sens. Ben Kieckhefer and Joe Hardy (both of whom voted for the $620 million Sandoval tax hike last session), seconded the “Hispandering” emotion.

Comment: That is indeed what we also heard...as he at least publicly jumped ship on yet another "Patriot" or "Constitutionist" issue...and then we turned him off. This is truly troubling especially now with Electoral College Day (the real "election" day) coming up and its relevant challenge issues of eligibility (valid, rightly certified proof), voter fraud, etc. Seems Savage is about the only "MSM" one left.

Because there are no established rules allowing a citizen to exercise the right to a civilian trial, as guaranteed by the Constitution (specifically, the Sixth Amendment), detained citizens have no way to gain access to lawyers, family or a civilian court after they are detained by the military.

“The biggest thing about the [2012] NDAA was that you weren’t getting a trial … Nothing in here says that you’ll make it to an Article III court so it literally does nothing,” Dan Johnson, founder of People Against the NDAA, told Business Insider on Thursday. “It’s a bunch of words, basically.”

My “fiscal cliff” deal

This may need some tweaking, of course. This will be fairly painful, of course (for me, too). But not nearly as painful as the coming fiscal, economic, social and political collapse. Republicans offer to vote for this if President Obama and 90% of House and Senate Democrats agree to support it:

Tax rates on those making over $250k go to Clinton era levels, indexed for inflation.
Tax rates on those making under $250k go to 50% of Clinton era levels, indexed for inflation. (They want the “Clinton Golden Years” back? This is a step towards it.)
Everyone with taxable income must pay at least 2% income tax regardless of how little their income is.
Eliminate deductions on mortgage interest for second homes, or any homes costing over $2 million. (Index this for the housing market in various areas. $2 million in NYC is different than Kansas City.)
Eliminate all business welfare subsidies, especially green corporate cronyism.
Eliminate ethanol subsidies, reduce all farm subsidies by 20% a year for next five years.
The “Death Tax” is not restored, to allow farms and businesses to be passed on intact.
Tax rates on Capital Gains stay the same to encourage job-creating investment.
The Social Security tax rate goes back to what it was, to postpone the SS collapse.
A “tax holiday” is declared for six months for any company that repatriates overseas income and invests it in expansion in the US, on that money only, of course.

SB 1172 would make illegal any counseling to diminish or eliminate same-sex sexual attractions or high-risk behaviors, even when, as is often the case, those attractions and behaviors derive from sexual abuse.

About the two Navy Seals killed in Libya:

Quite an astounding tribute to the courage and bravery of the two former Navy Seals that went to the aid of Ambassador Stevens and Embassy staff. Courageous!

Recently I was teaching a class in my church on the biblical character, Joshua. You remember him – he’s the one who took over for Moses to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. God made several promises to Joshua in the opening verses of this book of the Bible named after him. Three times God instructs Joshua to “be strong and courageous.” In fact, one of those times God instructed him to be “very courageous.” The road ahead was a tough one and Joshua would need to be up to the task.

The news has been full of the attacks on our embassies throughout the Muslim world, and in particular, the deaths of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others in Benghazi , Libya . However, apart from the shameful amount of disinformation willingly distributed by the Main Stream Media and the current administration, there’s a little known story of incredible bravery, heroics, and courage that should be the top story of every news agency across the fruited plain.
