Liberty University Beats Obama HHS-Abortion Mandate in Appeals Court
The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia, issued an order to stay the mandate until the U.S. Supreme Court rules on a petition for cert to be filed with the High Court by Liberty Counsel, on behalf of Liberty University and two private individuals.

Excerpt: I’m going to summarize in a single paragraph a debate that has been raging in health policy for the past two decades. On one side is what I call the health policy orthodoxy. On my side is a small group of people that believe markets can work. The debate goes like this. Them: The marketplace can’t work in health care. Patients don’t have enough knowledge; there is unequal bargaining power; and medicine is a profession, not a business. Us: What about cosmetic surgery? Them: That’s an exception. Us: What about Lasik surgery? Them: That’s another exception. Us: What about medical tourism? Them: That’s only for rich people. Us: What about Health Savings Accounts? Them: That’s only for healthy people. Us: What about walk-in clinics? Them: Okay, maybe the market can work for small stuff, like flu shots, but it can’t work for expensive procedures, like joint replacements and heart surgery. Do you know how many man hours have been spent repeating these sentences at conferences, briefings and hearings and in editorials and journal articles? Don’t ask. On the last point (about expensive procedures), I think the other side has had the better argument. Until now.

In speaking with Mary Adams, a conservative leader from Maine, here at the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), I learned that the Maine Republican Party actually has the following included in the party’s official platform:

“We urge all Republican candidates for state and national office to sign the Taxpayer Protection Pledge, and to vote against any and all efforts to increase taxes and fees.”

Would love to see the Nevada GOP approve a similar statement in the form of an official resolution at its next meeting in September!

Would also like to see conservative Republican pledge-signing challengers running against tax-hiking Republican incumbents campaign with this slogan: “If I’m elected, you’re protected!”

Our last column entitled: "You're Letting Liberal Educated Globalists Brainwash Your Kids!" covered the people who paid for and developed the Common Core State Standards that have now been instituted in 40 states.  It became abundantly evident that the standards were not a state effort, but a pure federal effort led by liberal globalists.   The Standards had the United Nations (globalists) written all over them.

 

Previous to writing the article we were not privy to any specific Common Core teaching document.  However, one of our long-time members e-mailed us a PDF copy of the Common Core Mathematics teaching document for Grades 3 thru 5.  We started reading the document, looking for how they were going to teach math.  To our dismay, we found it wasn't about math at all, it was about "equity" and "social justice."   Have you heard these terms before?  You bet you have and they didn't come out of the U.
