A South Florida orthodontist is taking on President Obama‘s penchant for unilaterally altering the Affordable Care Act without the approval of Congress.
And he’s got a shot a winning.
Larry Kawa took to Capitol Hill in Washington D.C., Wednesday morning to announce a lawsuit filed on his behalf with the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. It’s the only case of its kind against any of the 29 executive orders relating to Obamacare.
If successful, the court could force the Obama administration to adhere to the employer mandate that it has twice delayed, contradicting the plain text of the law.

My Brother's Keeper -- or Big Brother's Keeper?

Fortunately for President Obama, there is one job where his approval ratings are soaring: fatherhood. Bitter policy debates aside, the dad-in-chief has been from the public's perspective a good role model where it counts -- at home. We assume this is an inevitable part of American life instead of the outrage it is." After rattling off a series of sobering statistics on poverty, education, and crime, the President unveiled an initiative called My Brother's Keeper to improve the odds for the next generation of men.

A Reuters reporter in the Balaklava district saw Ukrainian border police in helmets and riot gear shut inside the border post, with a metal gate pulled shut and metal riot shields placed behind the windows as protection.

An Upside Down World
In December of 1865, the several American states ratified the thirteenth amendment constitutionally ending involuntary servitude in the United States. In the twenty-first century, Americans are coming full circle. In a number of states, a black man can again be forced by the government to work involuntarily for a white man.

Not since the nation eliminated Jim Crow laws during the civil rights era have we seen such a bizarre conundrum. But if the black man is a Christian and the white man is gay, a court can forcibly order the black man to serve the white man or drive the black man from business. Rothfus (R-PA), Barr, (R-KY) – Amendment No. 3 – Adds terms to define “negative-impact on jobs and wages” rules, helps agencies better identify such rules, and requires agency heads that approve such rules to state formally that they knew of the rules’ negative impacts on jobs and wages before approving them. – ADOPTED 249 – 162

Connolly (D-VA) – Amendment No. 7 – Exempts from the bill any rule pertaining to air quality or water quality. Also exempts from the bill any consent decree or settlement agreement pertaining to such a rule. – REJECTED 181 – 235
