Iran tells Turkey: change tack or face trouble

(Reuters) - A key aide to Iran's supreme leader said on Saturday Turkey must radically rethink its policies on Syria, the NATO missile shield and promoting Muslim secularism in the Arab world -- or face trouble from its own people and neighbors. In an interview with the semi-official Mehr news agency, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's military adviser described Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan's invitation to Arab countries to adopt Turkish-style democracy as "unexpected and unimaginable."

Mid-air terror as Saudi Arabian student (NOT ARRESTED, RELEASED) is wrestled from cabin after trying to open door

A young Saudi Arabian man was questioned by police after he created panic on a commercial flight by trying to open the exit door while the plane was still in mid-air.

The Solyndra Dilemma

Dear Conservative:

The political dilemma is not that surprising. Politicians can be expected to give special favors to their major contributors. Rarely are these political rewards so brazen, or so costly, as the $535 million loan guarantee given to the company whose major investor just happened to be George Kaiser, a major fund raiser for President Obama. Even more scandalous, was the loan restructuring agreed to by the Obama administration which subordinated repayment to the federal government in favor of repayment of Kaiser’s personal investment in Solyndra.

A credit review panel in the Bush administration ruled unanimously against granting this loan. A similar review panel in Obama’s administration predicted that Solyndra would go belly-up by September, 2011. Nevertheless, the Obama administration decided to grant the loan guarantee and make a spectacle of the event to promote Obama’s new “green” economy.

Politically,this deal stinks to high heaven.

But are Mormons "Christians" as defined by traditional Christian orthodoxy? The answer to that question is easy and straightforward, and it is "no." Nevertheless, even as the question is clear, the answer requires some explanation.

Rural Nevada Community Gets Needed Help from Low-Interest USDA Loan

A federal effort to pump affordable loan money into rural communities across the nation is bringing the city of Caliente a brand new pumper truck and a rescue vehicle with a mini-pumper, and not a moment too soon.

Due to a $120,000 loan and $15,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the city's all-volunteer fire department will soon have reliable working vehicles for the 60-odd medical and fire calls they make each month.

Caliente volunteer fire chief George Rowe said the timing of the loan was welcome because the city's existing gas-powered fire truck is more than 30 years old and on its last leg.

On a recent fire call, the vehicle had mechanical difficulties and could not make it to the site.
