Heller, Tester Fight to Expand Travel Options For Disabled Veterans

Senators introduce bill to let 100% disabled veterans fly aboard military aircraft

(Washington, D.C.) – Senators Dean Heller (R-Nev.) and Jon Tester (D-Mont.) are fighting to improve travel options for the nation’s 100 percent disabled veterans.

Under current law, retired service members can fly on military aircraft when there is extra space onboard. But 100 percent disabled veterans who don’t qualify for retired pay are ineligible for this benefit.

Heller and Tester introduced a bill that will give 100 percent disabled veterans the same flying rights as retired service members.

“Our nation’s disabled veterans live every day coping with the cost of freedom, and we owe a great deal of gratitude to these selfless patriots. By expanding travel options for our nation’s disabled veterans, we can help ensure they receive the benefits they earned and deserve,” Heller said.

“These veterans embody the definition of patriotism and sacrifice,” said Tester, Montana’s only member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee. “This bill is a common-sense way to honor their service and improve their quality of life by increasing their access to the benefits they have earned.”

OBAMA ADMINISTRATION ADVERTISING FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS TO SIGN UP FOR FOOD STAMPS!

Dear Conservative Friends,

The Obama administration has spent millions of taxpayer dollars to aggressively promote the government’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) -- including large cash payouts to local governments that sign up the most people. One state received a $5 million bonus for “the swift processing of applications.”

Obama’s active recruitment is adding 11,269 food-stamp recipients per day -- amounting to a 49.3 percent increase since the President took office in January of 2009.

A federal audit of SNAP reveals that many of the 46 million already receiving food stamps don’t qualify but receive them anyway under a special program that disregards income and asset requirements.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program was designed to be a temporary safety net for individuals and families in need, yet under Obama it has become a bloated entitlement program funded by American taxpayers.

But it gets worse.

It appears that our federal government is partnering with Mexico and other nation’s to place foreigners on SNAP!

Friends,

Every week in Carson City is busier and better than the week before, and I love making sure the voices from District 4 are being heard.

Last week revolved around three big issues: sex trafficking, online gaming and homeowner's associations.

On Wednesday Nevada's Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto presented AB67 to a joint meeting of the Assembly and Senate Judiciary Committees and a crowd of at least 100 guests. We heard the story of our Las Vegas neighbor Andrea Swanson whose daughter was trafficked by her high school boyfriend. She was a student at Centennial High School in our Assembly District 4, the school where my daughter, Savanah, attended. Amy Ayoud who I have the utmost respect for and consider a friend also shared her story of being trafficked and gave voice to the countless women and children living that horror every day. The hearing on AB67 lasted nearly 4 hours, and even after being called to the floor, many of our peers from Senate Judiciary chose to stay and listen. My heart breaks for our victims, and I'm so thankful for my peers who are making this a priority.

UC Riverside political scientist to present paper calling for creation of new party at Texas conference commemorating 1972 Raza Unida Party convention.

Political, economic and social conditions in the United States make this a propitious time to create a Latino political party, asserts Armando Navarro, a political scientist at the University of California, Riverside.

Navarro will present a paper calling for the creation of a Mexicano/Latino political party at the 40th Anniversary Commemoration of the 1972 Raza Unida Party National Convention Aug. 30-Sept. 2 in El Paso, Texas. The paper, “Prospects for Reviving RUP or for Creating a New Partido,” will appear in Navarro’s newest book, “Strategic Scenarios for Mexicano Self Determination of Aztlán in the 21st Century: What Needs to be Done,” due to be published in 2013.

The four-day conference is being convened by Jose Angel Gutierrez, Raza Unida Party founder and former party national chair, and kicks off with a symposium at the University of Texas, El Paso. Navarro will moderate a panel that will include prominent former RUP leaders Gutierrez, Herman Baca, Juan Jose Pena, Maria Jimenez and Ernesto Vigil.

Why does the US government need 30,000 Guillotines and over 600 Million rounds of hollow point bullets?

There are over 800 prison camps in the United States. All fully operational and ready to receive prisoners. They are all staffed and even surrounded by full-time guards. But they are all empty. These camps are to be operated by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) should Martial Law need to be implemented in the United States and all it would take is a presidential signature on a proclamation and the attorney general's signature on a warrant to which a list of names is attached. Ask yourself if you really want to be on THE list.

The Rex 84 Program was established on the reasoning that if a "mass exodus" of illegal aliens crossed the Mexican/US border, they would be quickly rounded up and detained in detention centers by FEMA. Rex 84 allowed many military bases to be closed down and to be turned into prisons. Operation Cable Splicer and Garden Plot are the two sub programs which will be implemented once the Rex 84 program is initiated for its proper purpose. Garden Plot is the program to control the population. Cable Splicer is the program for an orderly takeover of the state and local governments by the federal government. FEMA is the executive arm of the coming police state and thus will head up all operations. The Presidential Executive Orders already listed on the Federal Register also are part of the legal framework for this operation.

The New Yorker’s Jane Mayer, in a pair of blog posts, served up the latest attempted Democratic Party talking point on freshman Texas Senator Ted Cruz: that Senator Cruz is the second coming of Joe McCarthy. (ThinkProgress coordinates with a predictable illustration for those too simple-minded to get Mayer’s point). As it happens, I have some firsthand knowledge of the subject of Mayer’s vague, thinly-sourced hit job. She’ll have to do better next time, because Ted Cruz is right about Harvard Law School in the mid-1990s. 2. Why are Firemen Always the First To Be Laid Off?

Maybe because we’ll miss them the most.

Because the President has forgotten he’s already been elected and he’s been campaigning across the country to defeat his own idea, there are too many sources to quote regarding the dire consequences President Obama sees if the sequester, or Budget Control Act of 2011 (BCA), isn’t averted.
