The activists heralded a court ruling made the previous week that bars Arpaio’s deputies from detaining suspected illegal immigrants with no other reason.

Proponents of illegal immigration praised the ruling as a confirmation that officers are not authorized to pull anyone over if they think they are an undocumented immigrant. According to Antonio Bustamente, a civil-rights attorney and director of Los Abogados, Arizona’s Hispanic Bar Association, “Mere presence is not a crime.”

ARIZONA SCHOOL DISTRICT RULING ANGERS LIBERALS

ARIZONA SCHOOL’S MEXICAN-AMERICAN STUDIES PROGRAM RULED ILLEGAL
 

In agreement with an Arizona public schools chief, an administrative law judge ruled Tuesday that Tucson United School District’s Mexican-American studies program violated state law. Judge Lewis Kowal’s ruling was a defeat for the school district which had appealed the findings issued in June by Superintendent of Public Instruction John Huppenthal.

Kowal’s ruling said the district’s Mexican-American Studies program violated state law by having one or more classes designed primarily for one ethnic group, promoting racial resentment and advocating ethnic solidarity instead of treating students as individuals. Until the district comes into compliance, the judge found grounds to withhold 10 percent of its monthly state aid.

The program’s supporters call challenges to the courses an attack on the state’s Hispanic population, while critics say the program demonizes white people as oppressors of Hispanics.

Kabuki financial theatre – Congress net worth up 15 percent from 2004 to 2010 while the average American sees their net worth decline by 8 percent in the same timeframe.  Welcome to plutocrat USA. We truly have the best government money can buy.  From 2004 to 2010 members of Congress increased their median net worth by 15 percent while the average American saw it fall by 8 percent.  Yet this fall in net worth does little justice to the rising cost of food, energy, healthcare, and college expenses that have eaten away any iota of progress families try to achieve in a prosperous nation.  The fact that Congress presided over a Wall Street pilfering of the middle class and income inequality never seen in the history of the United States, we are starting to get a full understanding of what it is to live in a full-fledged plutocracy.  The reason people are frustrated with government is that it no longer looks out for their own interests and is narrowly focused on promoting the aggregation of wealth into fewer and fewer hands.
