The budget continues to grow;...As well as New York's Excuses...Insuffcient Ventilators reflects Insuffcient (local) Leadership
New York City, New York,...Population 2020, 8,398,748.... Budget for 2020 is $92.2 billion
New York City expects to raise $92.2 billion in fiscal year 2020. Since the city legally must have a balanced budget, that gives de Blasio’s government $92.2 billion to spend. That top line number is up $3 billion from the $89.2 billion budget passed last June (and makes it larger than any state’s budget except for California and New York (State)…..
*Opinion; I have to ask YOU.....New York City??? For a City that went through the Horrible and Tragic experiences of 9/11, and a City that still has First Responders Dying from resulting inhalations of Toxic and Hazardous chemicals, from those Nightmarish days, some 19 years ago, how is it possible that a most Medically Essential and still needed instrument such as a Ventilator is not properly supplied, Warehoused, stored, and in Reserve in a City that is so Vulnerable?? This is NOT second guessing you, this is Demanding that you answer this question to the 8 Million Citizens of NYC. You cannot possibly state that "It will not happen to me", for it already has.....And yet you appear Unprepared. You have a Governor, who is about to "Lose it" on Camera, while he Blames others for his part in this embarrassing and distinct Failure in preparedness and Leadership. Your present Mayor, clearly was and is too busy indoctrinating NYC, into his Delusional World of Socialism, only to (Now) prove that Socialism does Not WORK.
Between Mayors Bloomberg and De Blasio, a good 18 years have passed in NYC's , attempts to recover from the Nightmare and experience of what WAR is and what it means, and what it does. Yet, all those years of Leadership from these (2) individuals has resulted in a lack of Medical equipment, shortages of even the most simplest of PPE gear, the distinct shortage of a Priority Instrument such as Ventilators, that I'm sure was most essential during 9/11 and for years later. Where was, & Where is, the Leadership(???), is the priority question,when all the Rhetoric has lifted, and they stop Blaming the President for their abject Incompetence, and inability to be prepared??? The People of NYC have a Right-to-Know?? ***The United States Census of 2001 reflects that there were over 8 Million people in NYC that year. There are (still) over 8 Million people there now, so what has changed, that NYC was and is "Unprepared", based on their population size,and the needs that may arise??? Human Incompetence perhaps?
***A city that has a Budget, that is larger ($92.2 Billion in 2020), then at least 190 Countries on this Planet cannot and could not provide priority equipment for a City that has the same (approx.) population that it had during the 9/11 experience, when the lessons (of War) should have been remembered and learned. Bloomberg and De Blasio, perpetual Critics, of anything Conservative or American, have the GALL,... along with Gov. Cuomo to remain Child-like and Blame others for their distinct Failures. they couldn't afford to buy the (needed?) 15,000,(or more) Ventilators over the last 18 years of Bloomberg & De Blasio Leadership??
