CHUCK MUTH PRESENTS - THE BILBRAY FILES

THE BILBRAY FILES

Ebola has Spread to Bilbray’s Brain!

There was still one last chance for Democrat congressional candidate Erin Bilbray-without-the-Kohn.

No, silly.  Not to win the race against incumbent Rep. Joe Heck.

To lose with dignity.

To at least go down with her self-respect intact.

Natch.

Let’s start with the debate between Heck and Bilbray-without-the-Kohn last week on Channel 10, moderated by Steve Sebelius.

Prior to the debate, the air conditioning went out.  In Las Vegas.  Where temperatures can still reach well into the 90’s in October.

Making matters worse, I don’t know if you’ve ever been under studio lighting, but it’s HOT.

Nevertheless, Dr. Heck and Bilbray-without-the-Kohn “soldiered on.”  And, well, I’ll let Mr. Sebelius take it from here

“I personally apologized to both candidates for the conditions after the debate, and Tweeted my thanks to them for enduring the stifling room. And station General Manager Tom Axtell explained the problem to the studio audience before the debate began.

“Not only that, but the caption of the photo - taken by the Review-Journal’s Jeff Scheid - reports the broken A/C unit.

“That’s why I was surprised today to see the Bilbray camp use a photo of Heck wiping his brow during the 45-minute debate taping on an emailed fundraising pitch with the headline, ‘When confronted with his voting record at the first debate, Joe Heck couldn’t take the heat.’

“Really?

“Heck wasn’t sweating because of Bilbray’s debate barbs or because he was trying to dodge his votes — he was sweating because there was no air conditioning in a TV studio under hot lights! And, for that matter, so was everybody else!

We could have been asking Heck for his favorite scrambled egg recipes and he’d have been sweating, much less political questions under the standard stress that comes with a televised political debate. If it was under 90 degrees in that room, I’d be quite surprised.”

Wow.

As low as Bilbray-without-the-Kohn can go – remember when she called the Army doctor “un-American” early on in the campaign? - she always seems to find a way to sink even lower.

When called on this galling misrepresentation of fact and circumstance by Mr. Sebelius on Twitter, Bilbray-without-the-Kohn responded, “I handled the heat just fine. Call it grace under pressure.”

No, call it what it was:  A lie.

So not only has this woman exhibited a complete lack class and grace in the matter, she has no remorse.  She intentionally told a whopper…and has no regrets.  Fine lesson to be teaching her daughters.

Moving on to Monday night’s debate at Congregation Ner Tamid…

Once again demonstrating the shamelessness that has become the hallmark of her campaign, Bilbray-without-the-Kohn blamed Dr. Heck and Congressional Republicans for the Ebola crisis in the U.S.

According to what passes for logic in Bilbray-without-the-Kohn’s mind – and that of other liberal Democrats (to be fair, she’s mimicking the party line here; she didn’t come up with this one on her own) - it was budget cuts that allowed Ebola to spread into that Dallas hospital.

“In response,” reported the Las Vegas Review-Journal on Tuesday, “Heck accused Bilbray of lying about his record and he said lawmakers just this year voted to boost funding for the Centers for Disease Control by 8.2 percent. He also said that the Ebola infections of two nurses in Texas were due to human error, not the CDC budget.”

“The issue of the CDC having enough resources to respond would have no impact on the nurses who were infected,” Heck said.

Now get ready, because here’s where Bilbray-without-the-Kohn showed the world her brass ones…

“I disagree with you,” she responded.

Seriously?

A bona fide, card-carrying, MEDICAL DOCTOR explains that CDC research funding levels had absolutely nothing to do with how those nurses were infected with the deadly virus, and Bilbray-without-the-Kohn - whose entire professional medical experience consists of once putting a little mercurochrome on her daughter’s skinned knee - DISAGREED!

Talk about chutzpah.

This is almost as bad as last week’s debate when Bilbray-without-the-Kohn - whose entire professional military experience consists of once shopping for bargains at the Salvation Army - deigned to lecture Brigadier General Heck (that’s correct, BRIGADIER GENERAL!) on whether or not “boots on the ground” might become necessary in Iraq to deal with ISIS.

And while we’re on that subject; and since all of you know how I like to be as helpful as I can in situations such as this…

Dear Mrs. Bilbray-without-the-Kohn,

ISIS is a terrorist group of barbarians operating in Iraq which is not only killing people and capturing territory that Americans bled and died for over the past decade, but is going out of its way to behead innocent Western and American civilians on video just to taunt us.

ISIS is NOT the DC Comics Egyptian goddess superhero you used to watch on Saturday morning cartoons.  And you cannot defeat ISIS by simply sitting in the White House and shouting, “Shazam!”

Anyway, the rest of the debate reportedly was just a rehash of other ridiculous and absurd accusations Bilbray-without-the-Kohn has been spewing, without a shred of decency, this entire campaign - accusing Rep. Heck of hating women, hating sick people, hating young people, hating old people, hating Hispanics, hating military veterans and, presumably, hating puppies.

The good news in all of this is that Bilbray-without-the-Kohn has so embarrassed herself and tarnished her reputation that she’ll have a tough time winning even a school board race in the future.

Indeed, Erin has made shooting yourself in the foot by shooting off your mouth an art form.

November 4th can’t come soon enough.

Oh, which reminds me!

Early voting has been extremely light so far.  The Election Department believes this means that a large number of people are taking the advice of Jon Ralston, Nevada’s #2 liberal blogger, and are waiting to vote on the actual Election Day.

Which means there may be a crush of folks heading to the polls on the first Tuesday in November.  So to avoid the possibility of long lines, Election Day is being split in two.

Republicans will still vote on Tuesday, November 4th.  However, Democrats will now be voting on Wednesday, November 5th.

Please help spread the word!
