1. Republicans & GOP Donors Should Focus Here
We are all — all of us — attracted to shiny objects. Oftentimes we fixate on the shiny object and never see past the shine to what the object actually is or what it can actually do for us or whether it is even a distraction.
The IRS scandal is the latest shiny object on which the GOP will fixate. But if, instead of fixating, we take advantage of it — elected officials, activists, and donors alike — we can use what the Obama administration did via the IRS to our advantage.
Of course I am talking about Obamacare. Barack Obama wants to expand the number of IRS agents to manage Obamacare. In a scandal all its own, the IRS is facing a class action lawsuit for inappropriately accessing and taking the medical records of more than ten million people.
The IRS is improperly dragging out the review of 501(c) applications, inappropriately probing the political beliefs of organizations, and auditing those who would complain.
Conservatives have new and massive grounds to show the American people that what they’ve said all along was right — the government cannot be trusted to do the job. Heck, just yesterday David Axelrod said on television that the government was just too vast for the President to oversee.

2. Skynet on the Potomac
Obama’s favorite henchman, David Axelrod, deployed the famed Incompetence Defense on behalf of the embattled President during an MSNBC appearance on Wednesday. That’s the hot new line from Obama apologists: he’s so incredibly inept that he can’t be held responsible for anything his Administration does. He golfs, he raises money, he takes a lot of vacations… there’s not much time left over for management. He learns about the crazy misadventures of his subordinates by watching TV news, like the rest of us.
What an amazing transformation! Once upon a time, Barack Obama was the Czar of Czars, the genius super-president better qualified to run any industry than all of its CEOs put together. The diverse wisdom of 300 million Americans was nothing compared to his central planning genius. He knew what kind of energy we really needed, no matter how loudly we clamored for the fuels that work. He knew more about medicine than any doctor. He couldn’t discuss any subject without referring to himself several times per minute. He would transform us into an entirely different nation through his force of will. 3. Embattled Eric Holder Promises Gun Control
Eric Holder may be under intense scrutiny for his department’s part in wiretapping AP phones, seizing phone records, allowing IRS persecution, and gun-running, but that doesn’t mean his goal of gun control is in the backseat. 4. IRS Persecution Is A War On Women
Forget “binders full of women” — the IRS’s persecution of hundreds of tea party groups is the real war on women. I co-founded the movement in my hometown of St. Louis and have travelled the country with various tea party groups and I’ve seen it first hand: the tea party movement was predominately led by women. It isn’t a slight to our men; in speech after speech I mentioned how the nation’s men have been neutralized in this fight by the left’s ridiculous identity politics and bunk sexism claims. I’ve opined more than once “My husband can’t hit a girl, but I can.” It’s the truth — and it’s why women raised up from around the country to lead the charge. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →
5. Star Trek Into Darkness
Yes, a movie review from your Editor.
I went to Star Trek: Into Darkness tonight. I liked it in the way you might like a good piece of escapism, but it left me a bit empty. The JJ Abrams concept was supposed to be a reboot of the Star Trek franchise — a way to restart with the characters we love, but with a clean slate to new adventure.
Instead, Star Trek Into Darkness gives us a recycled piece of Star Trek lore that ranks so highly there was no way this was going to come close. Let me stop there and admit I’m a Trek fan. I’ve loved the series. But it isn’t completely fair to review the movie, that should be viewed as a reboot, through the eyes of someone who has seen the old stuff.
