Top Reads of the Week FLORIDA DAILY: Florida National Guard Readies for Hurricane Nicole Response as FDOT Locks Down Drawbridges A Recap of My Week Veterans Day means a great deal to my family and me. We know firsthand the sacrifice that goes into serving this country. Our district is privileged to have a significant veteran presence. We’re also fortunate to have communities that continuously show appreciation for our military. Here’s What I’m Supporting The Youth Coastal Fishing Program Act (HR 8977) - This bill would help the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to fund programs that encourage a lifelong appreciation for fishing, marine activities, and environmental conservation. The bill also prioritizes underserved communities that may otherwise not have access to marine and aquatic interactions. Updates From Agencies Update from the IRS The Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service announced the expansion of one of their programs for approving retirement plans. The IRS will now allow 403(b) retirement plans used by certain public schools, churches, and charities to use the same individually designed retirement plan determination letter program currently used by qualified retirement plans.
