SENATOR TIMM SCOTT SENDS: OXYMORON

 

Friend,   First, Joe Biden told voters, “you ain’t black” if they were still deciding between voting for him or Donald Trump.   Then, a liberal MSNBC guest called Winsome Sears 'The Black Mouth Of White Supremacy' when she became the first woman elected to the office of Lt. Governor in Virginia as a Black Republican.   Now, the co-host of “The View,” Sunny Hostin, recently said on air that she “doesn’t understand black Republicans,” and that a black Republican is “an oxymoron.”   I’ve seen more than my share of vicious opposition from “liberals” who want to tear me down  simply because my life story is a direct rebuke to everything they’re constantly saying about how our nation is “irredeemably racist” and how the “deck is stacked against” people like me.    I am the first African American Republican to serve in the U.S. Senate since 1979. And I am the first African American EVER to represent South Carolina in the U.S. Senate.   Friend, Democrats’ divisiveness only hurts our country, and it is deeply saddening to see. I’m reaching out to you today because I know I can count on you to show the Democrats that the GOP is indeed the big tent party - and we won’t let their divisiveness tear our nation down.   As a Black man from South Carolina who was raised by a single mom who routinely worked double shifts to provide for my brother and me, I will always be grateful for the opportunities our nation has provided me and my family.    And I will defend those opportunities for your family and for the next generation. That’s why I am asking that you join me and support State GOP Leaders that are upholding the values that make our country Great.
