This Week in the Office of Senator Marco Rubio  On Thursday, I released a video regarding my Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, which went into effect on June 21, 2022. The law bans the import of goods from the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, or from entities outside the region that have links to forced labor programs, unless companies can prove with clear and convincing evidence that items were not made with the use of slave labor. On Thursday, I blasted the U.S. Coast Guard’s announcement that it will not award Panama City’s Eastern Shipbuilding with the second phase of its Offshore Patrol Cutter program, which is for up to 11 cutters. Read more here .  On Thursday, I released a statement regarding the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in West Virginia v. Environmental Protection Agency , which restricts the executive branch from issuing regulations beyond the intentions of the legislative branch. Texas , which allows President Joe Biden to unilaterally end the Migrant Protection Protocols, also known as Remain in Mexico. Read more here .  On Wednesday, Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) and I sent a letter to U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken urging him to immediately redesignate Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern under the International Religious Freedom Act . Bremerton School District , which found coach Joe Kennedy’s constitutional rights were violated when he was fired for praying with students after high school football games.
