Officials reported ten people were taken to the hospital, and several others were missing after a fire and explosion at a Maryland apartment building on Thursday morning. Three victims have been hospitalized for severe injuries, while the other seven are in light to moderate condition.

According to officials, a fire was reported at the Friendly Garden Apartments in Silver Spring around 10:30 a.m. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they were able to rescue several people from the building before it "became completely consumed by fire" and collapsed.

There is an undisclosed number of persons who have gone missing. In addition, around 100 people were also displaced due to the explosion.

Fire engineers have deemed three of the complex's six buildings "unsafe to reoccupy." Residents will be able to retrieve their items once it has been determined that it is safe to do so.

As it turns out, there could be another major health benefit to drinking wine. A new study suggests wine can actually lower your risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.

The key is to consume wine with meals, as it gives you the best benefit. Experts say the study revealed that drinking wine with meals cuts your risk of Type 2 diabetes by 14%. That’s in comparison to those who drink alcohol without a meal.

And while other types of alcohol also seemed to decrease the risk of Type 2 diabetes when consumed with a meal, the benefits were far greater in participants who chose to consume wine.

What else does the study reveal and how exactly does wine and food paired together lower your risk of diabetes?
