We have a lot to be grateful for this holiday season. Here are some positive stories from our district to help you get through the rest of the week --

The World Equestrian Center in Ocala held its first concert last week. All the proceeds raised went towards the Travis Mills Foundation, an organization that helps veterans dealing with physical and mental health issues after returning from war. Country music artist and Army veteran Craig Morgan headlined the show. Travis Mills said the fundraiser is just another reminder to keep moving forward, no matter what life throws your way. Read more here.

This past Thanksgiving, people throughout the Big Bend region who spent much of 2020 without the ones they love were finally able to reunite. Harriet Sespico dropped her mom off in January and has done most of her visits through a window. Last week was the first time Harriet was able to go inside and hug her mom at the long-term care facility. A simple act, she says she'll never take for granted again. Read more here.

On Saturday, businesses gathered along the streets of St. Andrews for “Small Business Saturday,” an annual event to encourage customers to shop locally. This year, the owners decided to do something different and invited kids interested in owning their own business one day to bring their own tables and set up shop. By promoting youngsters interested in business, current shop owners hope to continue prosperity throughout St. Andrews. Read more here.
