ARKANSAS LEADS THE WAY!!!

To The Signers of The Moral Outcry Petition:

 

          Senator Jason Rapert, Representative Mary Bentley and numerous other Arkansas Senators and House Members have introduced or are co-sponsoring the first bill in America to ban abortion now with its major legislative findings and intent based on The Moral Outcry Petition.

 

          There will be a hearing on Arkansas bill SB 6 in the afternoon on February 10 in the Capitol at Little Rock, Arkansas. You may email Senator Rapert at: Jason.Rapert@senate.ar.gov to thank him for sponsoring the bill. You can also thank Representative Mary Bentley at  mary.bentley@arkansashouse.org for sponsoring the bill. I will be flying on February 9th to attend a press conference on February 10 at 11:45am in Little Rock. I will testify in favor of the bill later that afternoon.

 

Where Will It Go From Here?

 

          This is an exciting opportunity to move forward with the ultimate goal of reversing Roe v. Wade. Clearly such legislation will end up in federal district court first. Then this case would go to the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals which is one of the most justice-oriented Courts of Appeals on the issue of life. The Moral Outcry is a new way of banning abortion and instead helping all Arkansas women be free of all burden of child care through the Arkansas Safe Haven law. Under that existing Arkansas law, a woman can relinquish the baby up to 30 days after birth for free at a hospital emergency room or at a fire station.  The 8th Circuit could very well allow the law to go into effect.

 

           The abortion industry would then probably appeal to the Supreme Court, but all of that would probably take one to three years while we continue to collect signatures for The Moral Outcry Petition. See www.themoraloutcry.com.  The first step is to pass the law.
