As we approach the final few months of the year, spreading positivity becomes even more necessary. I want to thank you for contributing your good news stories. This email has become a highlight of my week, and I hope it helps give you the boost you need to persevere. Here are a few stories that stood out this week:
The nonprofit Resilience Force donated about 100 handmade masks to staff at Callaway Elementary on Monday afternoon. The nonprofit has been in the area for over a year, helping with home construction and recovery since Hurricane Michael. You can read the full story here.
An anonymous donor generously gave the Tallahassee Community College Foundation a gift of $250,000 to provide scholarships to students from Sopchoppy. The endowment will go toward helping students from Sopchoppy get their AA or AS degree at TCC or assistance with a workforce development program. You can read the full story here.
Good news for moviegoers! Since March 18th, the Grand Theatre in Panama City has been closed due to COVID. Starting August 28th, the theatre will reopen to the public with some extra safety protocols for patron’s protection. You can read the full story here.
