Title: To Impeach or Not?

The Adam Schiff impeachment inquiry is over.  So what will happen now?

A pundit on FOX predicted that Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, will stop the push for impeachment and will push the House to censure the president instead of impeaching him.   Ken Starr agreed that this may be the best route for Democrats.  

The comments by Adam Schiff at the onset of the hearings on Nov 21  seem to support this theory when he stated that his committee will review the evidence that they now have to make a recommendation to the House.  He backed off his total obsession about how impeachment is the only solution.  He emphasized that these hearings are an "inquiry" about impeachment and not a hearing for impeachment.  

So why does this theory make sense?  

1.  Democrats and Joe Biden do not want the Senate to investigate Burisma and Bidens in a Senate impeachment hearing. 

2.  Democrats and Hillary Clinton do not want the Senate to investigate how the Ukraine may have been used by Clinton to help her in 2016.  

3.  Democrats do not want the whistleblower to be questioned about the role of Democrats with the whistleblower in a Senate impeachment hearing. 

4.  Democrats do not want to risk losing an impeachment vote in the Senate that will embarrass them and exonerate Trump as the Mueller report did.  

5.  Democrats will claim victory with censure as it does not have to go to the Senate.  

6.  Democrats can use censure to disparage Trump in the 2020 campaign without rebuttal.   

7.  The 9 blue dog Democrats in the Senate from states that were won by Trump in 2016 will not be forced to vote no on impeachment to save their jobs.

8.  Nancy Pelosi fears any backlash about this in the Nov, 2020 elections that could cause a loss of the House for Democrats.  

9.  Democrats can stop this distraction from the Democrat primary debates, especially since the ratings for those debates have been so low (Americans don't care). 

10.  If this goes to the Senate, the Senate hearings in the spring will distract from the Democrat primary elections.   

Now, what is the down side for Democrats by censuring Trump instead of impeaching him?

1.  Republicans will point out all those 10 reasons why Democrats did not proceed with impeachment.  Questions about Biden, Clinton, Burisma, Democrat interaction with the whistleblower will linger.   

2.  Trump will run in 2020 on his record of making America great again for average working Americans.  

3.  Americans will forget all of this by the elections in Nov, 2020 (but that may be good for Democrats). 

4.  Republicans will add this to a long list of unsupported accusations by Democrats about Trump as Democrat's only strategy to beat Trump because Democrats have no ideas about how to help make life better for average working Americans.

5.  Republicans can use the censure to show the Democrat bias political use of the House ... Congressional abuse of power disguised as oversight.  

6.  Republicans can use the impeachment inquiry by Democrats to show how Democrats got nothing else done to help Americans because of their obsession to disparage Trump. 

7.   Trump will claim victory since Democrats did not impeach him. 

8.  Far left activists might lose their momentum, motivation, and faith in the Democrat party.    

As Dr. Fiona Hill commented in the afternoon of the Nov 21 hearing, Putin and Russians are the winners of all of this impeachment stuff.  America is divided.   Putin is very sophisticated in using US media and social media to cause dissension, division, chaos in the USA and elsewhere.  She also stated that Putin is suffering from USA oil independence from fracking.  He is obsessed about stopping oil production in the USA.  Is Putin responsible for all those articles that condemn fracking?  He already proved that he knows how to use USA social media to divide Americans.  Democrats fell victim to it.  So how else is Putin affecting divisions in Americans?   Black vs white?  Class warfare?  Gender warfare?  Putin wins the more this impeachment continues.    

Make no mistake, the only reason for these hearings is political.  Nothing else.  Ever since the day that Trump was elected.  So the decision about impeachment vs censure will be political.   Pelosi will decide what is politically best for Democrats. It will be a political decision.  

If Democrats decide to have more witnesses and/or hearings before an impeachment vote, that will be a clear indication that Democrat polling of swing states like Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, NC, Pennsylvania, Florida, NC and of independent voters shows that Democrats did not make their case to middle America to remove Trump.   

So what do you think will happen?  Evidently, only political activists care.  Polling  of average working Americans shows that this should all go away.  Average working Americans feel good about what Trump has done to help them and they just want life to continue as it currently is.   Bad news for Democrats in Nov, 2020.  So what do you think will happen?
