Israel Battles Iranian Drones......
Israel hits Iranian force in Syria to stop 'killer drones' – military........
25 August 2019
JERUSALEM/DAMASCUS, Israeli aircraft on Saturday struck Iranian forces near Damascus that had been planning to launch "killer drones" at targets in Israel, an Israeli military spokesman said.
"The strike targeted Iranian Quds Force operatives and Shiite militias which were preparing to advance attack plans targeting sites in Israel from within Syria over the last number of days," the military said in a statement.
The elite Quds Force is the overseas arm of Iran's Revolutionary Guards (IRGC). Israeli military spokesman Jonathan Conricus told reporters the forces on Thursday had been preparing to launch "killer drones" armed with explosives atnorthern Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the military had thwarted the planned Iranian attack. "Iran has no immunity anywhere. Our forces operate in every sector against the Iranian aggression," he said on Twitter.
Syrian state media said Syrian air defences intercepted "hostile targets" over Damascus, the capital, Saturday night.
Witnesses in Damascus said they heard and saw explosions in the sky.
"The aggression is ongoing and air defences are confronting hostile targets and are downing most of them in the southern region," state media outlet SANA said, indicating areas south of Damascus.
The Syrian army said in a statement that "the majority of the Israeli missiles were destroyed before reaching their targets." Conricus, however, said the impact of the Israeli strikes was "significant."
Israel says it has carried out hundreds of strikes in Syria against Iranian targets trying to establish a permanent military presence there and against advanced weapon shipments to Tehran-backed Lebanese militia Hezbollah.
Iran and Hezbollah are helping President Bashar al-Assad in the eight-year Syria war. Russia, which is also aiding Assad, has largely turned a blind eye to the Israeli air strikes. Netanyahu spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday, the Israeli leader's office said.
On Thursday, Netanyahu hinted of possible Israeli involvement in a series of blasts in the past few weeks that have hit weapon depots and bases belonging to paramilitary groups in Iraq, many of them backed by Iran.
On Wednesday, the PMF, the umbrella grouping of Iraq's mostly Shi'ite Muslim paramilitary groups, said the United States had allowed four Israeli drones to enter the region accompanying U.S. forces and carry out missions on Iraqi territory.
The U.S.-led coalition, in Iraq to fight remnants of the Islamic State group, dismissed the statement and the Pentagon denied it.
Israeli jets, drones destroy Iranian UAVs in Damascus to foil imminent attack..........

“We just prevented a pending, large-scale attack of multiple killer drones on Israel by striking Iranian Quds Force operatives and Shiite Militia targets in Syria”, said the Israeli military spokesman after midnight Saturday, August 24.
Iron Dome batteries were deployed across northern Israel and Israeli Air Force and intelligence bases placed on high alert.
The IDF stood ready for the Iranians to have prepared a “second strike” option if their first attempt to explode their drones over northern Israel failed.
While Iran had carried out three rocket and other attacks on Israel last year, the use of advanced kamikaze drones set to explode on contact with targets was a new and a different type of threat. said the IDF spokesman Jonathan Conricus.
Israel had monitored the plot for several months and on Thursday prevented Iran from making an “advanced attempt” to execute the same plan.
He said the Israeli air attack had also targeted “a number of terror targets and military facilities belonging to the Quds force as well as Shiite militias.”
“This was a significant plan with significant capabilities that had been planned for a few months,” Conricus said. “It was not something done on a low level, but rather top down from the Quds Force.” Then, Iran tried again late Saturday to carry out the same attack, said the spokesman.
Israeli rarely admits to its attacks across its borders against Iranian targets.
IDF chief of staff Lieutenant General Aviv Kochavi conducted this operation. Community leaders on the Golan were briefed and told to stand ready for developments.
At 2 a.m Sunday morning, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu conducted a special meeting at IDF headquarters in Tel Aviv.
A Critical Threshold Has Just Been Crossed, And Things Will NEVER Be The Same Again…
Michael Snyder August 24, 2019
Just when things seemed to be settling down a little bit, America’s conflict with China has suddenly escalated to a dangerous new phase.
This is not simply just a “trade war” any longer, and our relationship with Chinawill never be the same again.
President Trump just referred to Chinese President Xi Jinping as our “enemy”, and this is something that the Chinese are going to take extremely seriously.
In China, the national leader is a representation of the government as a whole, and the government as a whole is a representation of the entire county. So to the Chinese people, what Trump just said will be interpreted as “the United States and China are now enemies”.
Of course for Trump everything would be forgiven tomorrow if the Chinese totally caved in to his demands and started saying all sorts of nice things about him, but for the Chinese what has transpired in recent months will be remembered for generations.
President Trump has insulted their national honour over and over again, and that sort of thing may not mean much to us here in the western world anymore, but over in China their sense of honour is central to who they are as a people.
After everything that has already been said and done, there will be no going back, and we are now facing a future in which the United States and China will be very bitter enemies.
