At Least 18 Classified Emails Found on Weiner’s Laptop

Judicial Watch revealed that there are at least 18 classified emails in the 798 documents recently produced by the State Department from the FBI’s investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s illicit email system. The emails were found on the laptop of Anthony Weiner, who is the estranged husband of former Clinton aide Huma Abedin.

Judicial Watch is fighting the State Department for a full production of records responsive to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit for the emails found by the FBI on Anthony Weiner’s laptop. According to then-FBI Director James Comey, Weiner’s laptop contained “hundreds of thousands” of emails of former Secretary Clinton.

JW President Tom Fitton: “Judicial Watch went to the FBI in 2016 with information that we’d uncovered that suggested that the Russians had compromised her server. Judicial Watch hired someone to investigate whether the Clinton emails were on the Dark Web, and our vendor found there were indications that documents had been hacked from her server. Judicial Watch went to the FBI and our guy met with them for four hours – and the meeting was initially set up through Peter Strzok, even though he interestingly wasn’t at the meeting. And the FBI never did anything with that information. So Judicial Watch alerted the FBI to a potential breach of Hillary Clinton’s server by Russians in 2016, but they never did anything.”
