LAS VEGAS - COUNCILWOMAN MICHELE FIORE'S 4th OF JULY EVENT A GREAT SUCCESS!

Our 4th of July Event was the Biggest and Best Event we've had so far!

I don't even know where to start with this email blast. Yes I do, thank you everyone. I mainly want to take the time to thank every person that made this event happen. It took many, many people, putting their time, energy, money, physical strength, and resources "all in" to make this happen. First, I just want to express what I appreciated about this event, that was different from some of the other events we've had in the past.
The event itself was remarkable. We hosted far more people at this event than Christmas or Easter. There were nearly 3,000 attendees of all ages. What made this event so surprising was the harmony that was present within such a large crowd.

Amazingly, it seemed the attendee, in the spirit of the 4th of July, were more united in their compassion for each other, than perhaps some other holidays that you would naturally anticipate that kind of ethical behavior. There were no incidences, medical or otherwise. Everybody was patient and respectful as they waited in lines to get dinner and goodies, and this was the largest gathering we've ever hosted.
There was something for everyone. People started showing up an hour early to begin setting up their spots for the night. As soon as families arrived, they were handed flags and bags. All the kids got grab bags with toys and temporary tattoos. There was a large variety of free food and beverages for everybody to enjoy. We didn't serve the last hotdogs until after 9 pm! Anderson Dairy supplied us with ice cream and dry ice so it wouldn't melt! Two little girls ran up to me and said they felt like they were at a big birthday party.
When the sun went down, we handed out blinking red, white, and blue LED necklaces, and the sight of the darkened field filled with the blinking lights was a remarkable visual. This was a community; you could feel it in the air! DJ Scoobie was on point. People were dancing. The fireworks were synced up with the music, and the sound quality was excellent.
The greatest feeling was hearing the roar of the cheering crowd after the grand finale. In that 3-5 second moment, I knew this was going to become a tradition. That one moment of synced up happiness is worth ALL of the time, money, and efforts that it takes to put on significant events like this.
Now that I've expressed why I'm thankful, here is a list of who I would like to thank. I'm going to acknowledge in timeline order.

First, I need to thank my supporters that contributed to this event. I am continually fundraising for these events and all the people that donate to our community outreach, whether it's funds or hundreds of ice creams, they are the ones that make this possible. Without their support, there would be no events.
Secondly, all of the people involved with planning, ordering, and synchronizing. The people that make sure we have enough for everyone, and that everything runs on time. These are the people that transport thousands of pounds of food in a giant Uhaul truck and work endless days to really making sure that everything is well put together and will be satisfying. Without them, there would be no excitement, and our event would not be worthy of everyone in our community!
Thirdly, I am personally thanking all of the volunteers. It takes A LOT of people to set up tents so that they won't blow away, unload trucks, wrap tables, and hump it through the heat of a July afternoon. We had volunteers from Kiwanis, The YMCA, Political volunteers, my personal staff, City Marshalls, and Skye Canyon employees. They set up, tore down, and cleaned up the park until 11 pm.

I'm especially thankful to Skye Canyon for letting us use their private park, Garry Goett for being my partner in this, DJ Scoobie for setting a good sound atmosphere, and Pyrotechnico FX for their fabulous firework show!!! The location, sights, sounds, and company made the night fantastic.

Last, but absolutely not least, I am thanking everyone that came to our event. Everyone that showed up and waited in the food lines patiently and made it a good time for everyone. Thank you to all of the families that came together to share this moment and everyone else that participated. The overwhelming kindness that was shared at Skye Canyon Park that night was contagious and unforgettable. Thank you, everyone, for making this event one of the best events!

Hope to See You Next Time!
With Liberty and Love,
Michele
