Iranian General: “Our hands on the Trigger, your Airbases within Reach.... Netanyahu: “We are Ready…..”
April 21, 2018
Iran’s leaders used their Friday sermons to double down on their threatening invective against Israel, the day after its April 19 Independence Day celebrations.
They chose a particularly hard-line Revolutionary Guards general, vice commander Hossein Salami, to indicate that they meant business:
The promised military punishment was on the way for Israel’s air strike on the Syrian T-4 base on April 9, the deaths of seven Guards officers and the knocking out of their airspace command in Syria.
Netanyahu replied: “We hear the threats from Iran. The IDF and the security forces are ready for any development.”
Addressing a festive post-Independence Day cabinet meeting, he said: “We will fight whoever tries to harm us. We are not put off by the price and will exact a cost from those who want to harm us… the people will stand strong.”
Since Iran stepped up its bellicose rhetoric, Israel’s defence deployments on the Syrian and Lebanon borders were substantially beefed up and its air force placed on alert to meet a possible Iranian reprisal for its T-4 attack.
Intelligence analysts have advised the government that the threats are to be taken seriously.
Although the national holidays of Memorial Day and the 70th anniversary of Israel’s independence passed without security incidents, the military maintained a high level of preparedness.
By his two Twitter messages, the Iranian general Friday brought the threatening rhetoric to a new level:
“Don’t have hope in US and UK; when they arrive, you won’t be there… Smallest goal will be your existence. You can’t bear. When you escape, you’ll have no way but to the sea.”
In an earlier tweet Salami warned, “Hands are on the trigger and missiles are ready and will be launched at any moment that enemy has a sinister plot… North and west of Israel are at the intersection of fire; you will not escape. You live in the dragon’s mouth.”
Those are fighting words? Will they dare do it??
Some 3,000 Rioting Palestinians Fly Flaming Kites over Gaza Border…...
April 20, 2018
April 20, 2018
The IDF reported around 3,000 Palestinians staged violent demonstrationsFriday at five points of the Gaza-Israeli border.
They were again kept back by tear gas and gunfire, as in former weeks.
Some tried to fly burning kites over to the Israeli side of the border. They were intercepted. Others burned tyres.
The Palestinians report 4 dead and hundreds injured.
Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman commented, after inspecting the border confrontation, that the demonstrators are being paid by Hamas to turn out.
The popular turnout is diminishing week by week.
In response to the threat tweeted Friday by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards general, [see previous article] Lieberman said:
“He who conspires to make war on us should know that his blood is on his head. I don’t remember the IDF ever being better prepared than it is now.”

Geopolitical Updates…..
RUSSIA
A RUSSIAN warship was tracked by the Royal Navy as it passed close to the UK coastline today.
Russian frigate Yaroslav Mudry was closely watched by HMS St Albans as it made its way through the English Channel and Dover Strait as tensions between the UK and Russia continue to simmer.
North Korea….
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un announced Friday that his country will be suspending missile testing and closing a nuclear test site, several reports said.
"From April 21, North Korea will stop nuclear tests and launches of intercontinental ballistic missiles," the Korean Central News Agency said, according to Yonhap News.
"The North will shut down a nuclear test site in the country's northern side to prove the vow to suspend nuclear test."
The announcement comes amid preparations for a meeting later this year between President Trump and the North Korean dictator.
During the summit, Trump said he expected to talk with Kim about denuclearising the hermit kingdom.
CHINA
China has deployed electronic attack systems and other military facilities on disputed islands in the South China Sea and is now capable of controlling the strategic waterway, according to the admiral slated to be the next Pacific Command chief.
Additionally, the command nominee Admiral Philip Davidson told theSenate Armed Services Committee in a written statement this week that the military urgently needs hypersonic and other advanced weaponry to defeatChina's People's Liberation Army in a future conflict.
TAIWAN
Recent patrols by China’s air force in and around Taiwan appear to be part of a coordinated strike plan across different branches of Chinese military that will encompass the entire area - possibly as preparation for military conflict with the self-ruled island - experts have said.
The air force conducted several “island encirclement” patrols in and around Taiwan in recent days, the People’s Liberation Army said on Thursday - one day after the mainland’s navy carried out a live-fire drill in the Taiwan Strait.
IRAN
What is Iran doing in Syria?
Tehran’s attempt to build a network of bases and missile factories in Syria — now that it has helped Assad largely crush the uprising against him — appears to be an ego-power play by Iran’s Quds Force leader Suleimani to extend Iran’s grip on key parts of the Sunni Arab world and advance his power struggle with President Hassan Rouhani. [pictured below]
Suleimani’s Quds Force now more or less controls — through proxies — four Arab capitals: Damascus, Beirut, Baghdad and Sana.
Iran has actually become the biggest “occupying power” in the Arab world today.
But Suleimani may be overplaying his hand, especially if he finds himself in a direct confrontation with Israel in Syria, far from Iran, without air cover.
That is surely one reason Iran has not retaliated — yet. Suleimani has to think twice about starting a full-scale, direct war with Israel, because of another big story many people have not noticed: Iran’s currency iscollapsing back home.
Moreover, Israeli military officials believe Russian President Vladimir Putin and Suleimani are no longer natural allies.
Putin wants and needs a stable Syria where his puppet Bashar Assad can be in control and Russia can maintain a forward naval and air presence and look like a superpower again — on the cheap.
Iran’s President Rouhani probably also prefers a stable Syria, where Assad has consolidated his power and that is not a drain on the Iranian budget.
But Suleimani and the Quds Force seem to aspire to greater dominance of the Arab world and putting more pressure on Israel.
Unless Suleimani backs down, you are about to see in Syria an unstoppable force — Iran’s Quds Force — meet an immovable object: Israel.
Fasten your seatbelt.
