Rep. Steve Stivers, R-Ohio, on Monday told The Hill that House Republican leaders will likely introduce a legislation package this week that includes school safety and gun-related measures, a move that comes nearly two weeks after a gunman opened fire at a high school in Florida, killing 17 and injuring at least 17. “You may see something introduced this week, but obviously you won’t see it passed this week,” he said. “But pretty quickly. 20 States Sue to Kill Obamacare, Citing Trump’s Mandate Repeal
Twenty states filed a lawsuit Monday arguing the new law President Trump signed last year revoking Obamacare’s individual mandate actually makes the rest of the 2010 health law unconstitutional as well. Led by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel, the lawsuit says the individual mandate — upheld by the Supreme Court in 2012 — was the crux of the Affordable Care Act’s legality. Trump to Visit California to See Wall Prototypes
President Donald Trump will travel to California next month to attend a fundraiser in Los Angeles and visit the Mexican border to check out border wall prototypes, according to a new report. The Washington Post cited administration officials as saying the visit will likely occur in the middle of March. It would be Trump's first trip to the Golden State as president. Six companies built eight prototypes of border wall near the border east of San Diego. States, Teachers Unions Resist Trump’s Call to Arm Educators
President Trump’s call to arm more qualified teachers is going nowhere fast with the states and with teachers unions, although some individual teachers support the idea. A mini-lecture that Mr. Trump received Monday from Washington state Gov.
