This is one of the few sites carrying this news. I don't think the trespassing US coalition knows how to report this. The Russians are there because they are invited by the sovereign government of Syria. Syria did not invite the US.
Further, while the SDF forces that were hit were legally in Syria, they were Kurds and their forces, along with US forces were in an industrial zone of high economic importance. Further still, this was not part of Kurdistan (Rojava), so they were not defending their turf. They were helping the US occupy an economically important part of a country that was not theirs. Their presence here was cowardly. They allowed the Russians and Syrians to take the casualties for years and all but defeat ISIS before wading in an pretending to be the heroes, claiming a victory that was not theirs.
They issued a warning to the Syrian troops NOT to cross the Euphrates to the area the US and coalition were illegally occupying in Deir Ezzor (Obama had "accidentally" killed 80 Syrian soldiers near this strategically important area that the Washington Satanists covet). The territory was Syria's and there was no legal justification for this ban on Syrians crossing into their own territory.
The Russians called their bluff.
The Russians have the high ground. They are there legally. They fired Iskander missiles into ISIS strongholds a few days before from a sub in the Med, an astonishing feat. In a historic first, China joined the Astana peace talks before this, adding to the international prestige of the talks that the US refuses to join. The US knows it does not dare sully the Chinese. The noose is tightening.
The US position is shaky on both military and geopolitical grounds.
Skirmishing with the Russians would be suicide at this point.
