Supreme Court Lets Trump Restore Strict Limits on Refugees

The Supreme Court dealt President Trump a partial victory Wednesday in the legal battle over his travel ban, allowing the administration to restore strict limits on refugees that were blocked last week by a federal judge in Hawaii. The win for Mr. Trump, however, was tempered by the high court’s decision to uphold the same judges’ ruling that exempted grandparents and other relatives of U.S. citizens from the administration’s travel ban on six Muslim-majority countries. Both decisions are temporary, and the case is headed to the San Francisco-based 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for a full review. The administration appealed to the Supreme Court after ... Read More

Rosenstein Mum on Re-opening Clinton Email Investigation

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, in an exclusive interview with Fox News that aired Wednesday, repeatedly declined to say whether the Justice Department might reopen the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server. In the interview on "The Story with Martha MacCallum," Rosenstein said he would not comment on the FBI investigation into whether Clinton mishandled classified information, which was closed last summer without charges being filed. When asked by MacCallum if he would ever consider re-opening the investigation, Rosenstein answered “every decision we make … about whether to investigate, whether to prosecute, is based upon the facts in the law [and] an independent ... Read More

The CBO also projected that premiums for individual policies would ... Read More

Hundreds of U.S. Immigration Agents Deploy to Sanctuary Cities

The head of the U.S. government’s lead immigration enforcement agency said Tuesday that he will devote more resources to arresting criminal aliens in sanctuary cities, focusing attention on interior operations as illegal crossings at the southern border continue falling. Thomas Homan, the acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), told the Washington Examiner that the Trump administration has empowered law enforcement to strictly enforce immigration laws, a welcome change from previous administrations he has worked under during his 30-year career as an immigration cop. “Now they have meaning to their jobs,” Homan said, referring to U.S. ... Read More

House to Vote on Trump's $1.6B Border Wall Request Next Week

House Republicans are moving next week to fund President Donald Trump's $1.6 billion request to begin construction of his oft-promised wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. Aides said Tuesday evening that GOP leaders have decided to attach the money — to build 74 miles of fencing and levee wall in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas and near San Diego — to a spending bill for the Defense Department and a handful of other agencies like the Department of Veterans Affairs. The wall money is strongly opposed by Democrats and some Republicans. But Trump is insistent on it and the GOP plan would give ... Read More
