"You're A Fascist!" The Storm Troopers Shouted
GrassTopsUSA Exclusive Commentary

In a column during the Cold War, the late William F. Buckley Jr. made a
mock appeal to the Soviets: "If you'll stop lying about us, we'll stop
telling the truth about you." Conservatives could say the same to Black
Lives Matter, ANSWER Coalition, the Women's March for Whatever and
anarchists in ski masks.
The irony of leftist charges of fascism is this: The more they scream
fascism at the top of their lungs, the more they behave like storm
troopers.
Donald Trump is a fascist, they tell us ad nauseam. His entire
administration is made up of fascists. (They sing "Deutschland uber
alles" at cabinet meetings, don't they?) Half of the country who voted
for him are fascists – or, at the very least, tools of fascism. If you
still support Trump after he's been in office for all of 8 weeks, you're
a goose-stepping, book-burning, brown-shirted bigot.
The mob that attacked the Deplorables Inaugural Ball chanted "No Trump!
No KKK! No fascist USA!" (Like children, leftist demonstrators love
rhyming.) While they equated Trump with the KKK and fascism, they were
throwing bottles, using pepper spray and assaulting passersby. One young
man wearing a Trump hat was hit in the back of the head with a
flagpole. The assault left him bloody. Hello "The Rise and Fall of the
Third Reich."
Cut to White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer being accosted in an
Apple store by a woman who followed him around asking: "How does it feel
to work for a fascist?"
On January 21,
the loony left Salon.com ran a story with the headline:
"Congratulations, America – you did it! An actual fascist is now your
official president." Wait
– I thought Hillary lost the election.
The left uses words the way appellate court judges use constitutional
phrases. If asked why Trump is a fascist, these very deep thinkers will
mutter something about the
Commander-in-Chief being a racist, xenophobe, Islamophobe or a sexual
predator. (Is Bill Clinton a fascist? Was JFK?)
Let's take the absurd seriously for a moment. Is Trump a fascist because:
1. He supports the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms? But
wherever the Nazis went in Europe, they seized privately owned guns, to
forestall mass uprisings.
2. He wants to cut federal spending and make government leaner?
Fascists believed in gargantuan government, not the limited,
constitutional kind. Mussolini said: "All within the State, nothing
outside the State, nothing against the State." Does that sound like a
Tea Party slogan?
3. He wants to stop illegal immigration? Ronald Reagan said "a nation
that cannot control its borders is not a nation." Hitler didn't want to
secure his borders. He wanted to expand his territory.
4. Trump wants better control of the process of admitting refugees from
Muslim states that are breeding grounds for jihad? Not only are
countries like Iran, Iraq and Syria hotbeds of terrorism, they're not
exactly shining examples of human rights and democracy.
If Trump is a fascist dictator, how come his critics can revile and
threaten him every day at hundreds of forums and get away with it?
Imagine someone in Berlin in 1939 ridiculing the Fuhrer's mustache or
saying he wanted to sexually enslave Eva Braun, without consequences.
How about a fascist who has a Jewish daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren, and is resolutely pro-Israel?
Fascism is a movement of the left, not the right, characterized by:
1. A mania for controlling every aspect of existence. Unlike its red
counterpart, fascism maintained the illusion of private property, while
setting prices, wages,
profits, working conditions and so on. We're currently debating repeal
of ObamaCare, a far-reaching system for regimenting health insurance and
health-care delivery. Referring to business, "You didn't build that"
(so we can make you do with it whatever we want) reflects the fascist
mindset of a certain ex-president.
2. Racism – For the Third Reich it was a genocidal anti-Semitism
combined with the conviction of Aryan supremacy. For the 21st century
left, it's anti-white racism which can be seen in its constant carping
about white privilege. For the Nazis, it was all the fault of what it
called "international Jewry." For the left, all of the country's ills
are attributed to white racism (hatred of minorities) and white
privilege. The Afro-centrists portray whites as soulless monsters, much
the way National Socialists portrayed Jews. Example: Leonard Jeffries
with his demented sun people vs. ice people theories.
3. A smug intolerance of opposing views on controversial questions –
whether it's abortion,
"same-sex marriage" or "transgender" bathrooms. It's not enough for
their allies on the federal bench to create pseudo-rights out of thin
air. Dissenters must be compelled to worship at the altar of political
correctness or destroyed with fines, boycotts and ostracism.
On college campuses, the most fascistic places in America, dissent is an
endangered species.
4. A willingness to employ violence to achieve political ends – the
glorification of brute force. Storm troopers in the streets of Weimar
Germany helped to destroy nascent democracy and usher in Hitlerism.
Since the president's election, the left (incited
by the mainstream media and celebrities) has rampaged in ways not seen
since the 1960s.
It was bad before the election and worse since. Conservative talk show
host Michael Savage, who was pushed to the ground outside a restaurant
recently, says it's "open season on" the president's defenders.
Since the Inauguration, Trump supporters have been knocked down, kicked,
shoved, chased, hit over the head, dragged through traffic and punched
in the head and face repeatedly
– outside a conservative speech in Berkeley, in the Portland, Ore.
Airport, at the University of Pittsburgh, at the Oscars ceremonies,
outside the Trump International Hotel in D.C., in traffic in Chicago.
In the prophetic words of populist politician Huey Long, in the 1930s,
"When fascism comes to America it will be called anti-fascism."
Hillary Clinton slings clichés the way a short-order cook slings hash.
Speaking in Scranton, Pa. on St. Patrick's Day, the former first lady
admonished: "I do not believe that we can let political divides harden
into personal divides. And we can't just ignore, or turn a cold shoulder
to someone because they disagree with us politically." This is from the
lady who coined the word "deplorables" to describe those she called
"racist, sexist, xenophobic, Islamophobic" –
in other words, voters who had the audacity to disagree with her on
certain
issues.
If she was serious about her latest shtick (tolerance and mutual
respect), she'd tell her allies on left to call off their attack dogs
– German Shepherds and Dobermans I believe.
