The article linked below is disarmingly simple and easy to understand. Yet this author is one of the few who gets it.
I have been working on a series of articles that attempt to explain US foreign policy, and my research has led me to two reasons for this absurd policy, namely, the petrodollar agreement with the Saudis and the radical Enlightenment notion that Christianity is holding back progress and must be eliminated.
I posted this at the forum:
We
miss the obvious. Deceitful historians tell us that the Enlightenment
was an 18th Century movement. They also paint it as a real enlightenment
that unfolded liberty and democracy
and a bold step forward for humanity. But this movement did not end in
the 18th century and it did not signal a bold step toward human
progress, although it could have. The trouble is, there were 2 basic
streams here. One is represented by Voltaire's ideology
(cynically called a philosophy) and the other by the writings of
Pascal. The latter ideology had as its central pillar the complete
elimination of Christianity ("Christians" were to blame. They tried to
force their theology down everyone's throat). The other
wanted to keep the baby but throw out the dirty bath. The radicals won
out (their ideas led to the bloody French Revoluion and to Bonaparte's
destructive romp across Europe and Russia) and the moderates lost. The
battle is ongoing today. The Russians represent
these moderates who are in fact the truly enlightened ones. The Italian
word for "enlightened one" is illuminato. Plural illuminati. This
ongoing war between the virulent and intolerant "enlightened" ones and
the true enlightened ones is precisely what is
being played out between Russia and the West. Ephesians 6:12 explains this from a Christian standpoint.

Why is unapologetic hatred of Russia accepted all over the western
world? Aside from the geopolitical reasons for the media to whip up
anti-Russia hysteria (Russia is sitting on loads of fres
