TELL CONGRESS TO VOTE 'YES' ON HJ RES 38

Patriots,
Obama’s biggest promise kept was the promise to bankrupt coal: under his onslaught of regulations, U.S. coal production plummeted and America’s largest coal producers filed for bankruptcy.1
But with your help, we can end the War on Coal, starting tomorrow.

Tomorrow the House of Representatives will vote on H.J. Res. 38, a bill that will end the Office of Surface Mining’s draconian “Stream Buffer Rule.”
As Senator Murkowski stated, “This rule was written behind closed doors, ignores nearly all input from state regulators, and is specifically intended to put coal miners out of work”.2
The Stream Buffer Rule was described by the Office of Surface Mining’s own contractor as “atomic” for coal and he went on to say “I think that is the Director's intent, frankly.” It destroys thousands of jobs and costs millions of dollars to protect only 15 miles of streams.3
Repealing this disastrous regulation is the critical first step — it will provide relief to America’s suffering coal industry, and it will lower the cost of electricity for American families.
Thanks for all you do.
Phil,
President, American Commitment
