U.S./UK/Canada-trained Ukrainian forces shell Donetsk Republic more than 6,400 times over past week
DONETSK – Ukrainian forces shelled Donetsk People’s Republic more than
6,400 times over the past week, a DPR defense official reports.
“The situation along the contact line has been tense. The number of
cases of shelling has increased up to 6,467 (compared with 5,118 the
previous week). Artillery, tanks and mortars were employed to shell the
Republic in 2,795 cases,” DPR Operations Command
deputy commander Colonel Eduard Basurin told a news briefing at the Donetsk News Agency (DAN News) on Friday
.
Basurin said that 26 towns and villages were hit this week, among them Donetsk, Gorlovka, Yasinovataya and Dokuchaevsk.
Earlier in the day reports said Kiev forces shelling took out power for
Sergeevka village in Novoazovskiy district in DPR south. Overall 340
mortar and artillery rounds hit DPR frontline areas overnight, a
military source said.
