Obama Doubling Down on Purging the Military
Fellow Conservative,If you haven’t heard the good news yet, Sgt. Charles Martland has been fully reinstated into the Army.
Last year, the Army officially discharged Sgt. Martland because he laid his hands on a confessed child rapist in Afghanistan. Two days ago, cooler heads prevailed and thanks to your advocacy, the Army was forced to back down.
We had a great victory. But what about the countless other soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines who are being kicked out of the military right now?
The President has said that it is his goal to make the military the smallest it has been since the World Wars. To accomplish this, the Pentagon is using any blemish in the records as an excuse to kick these heroes out. They're doubling down on Obama's purge.
Martland isn’t the only one who the Obama administration tried to kick out for taking a moral stand.
I want to tell you the story of Marine Reserves Major Jason Brezler. He was discharged because he warned his fellow marines about the danger that a local Afghan Police Chief – Sarwan Jan – posed to soldiers in the area.
While in the service, Major Brezler helped create a report on Sarwan Jan that found he was a known drug and weapons trafficker and a “systemic child rapist.” The Afghan would repeatedly bring children as young as 10-years old onto the base.
When Jason Brezler left Afghanistan and moved to New York City, one of his fellow Marines emailed him. He had come into contact with Jan and wanted to know his back-story. Without even thinking, Major Brezler emailed him the classified report. Realizing the mistake he had made, Jason turned himself in to be reprimanded.
Two weeks later, he learned that Sarwan Jan had received a command on another US Military base and that one of his child sex slaves had used an AK-47 to murder three Marines.
What Major Jason Brezler did was illegal; there is no doubt about that. But it was also the right thing to do and his actions revealed the fact that the US Military did nothing with the intelligence he originally gave them. Sarwan Jan was still allowed to work on a US base and he was still allowed to use the base for child sex trafficking. Brezler was dishonorably discharged from the military, all for trying to warn his brothers in arms of a legitimate threat that higher-ups chose to bury.
Sgt. Martland was just one of many! Force Congress to STOP the Obama administration from purging the military of all of these American heroes!
The fight isn’t over. We were able to save Charles Martland’s career, but how many others did Obama and the Pentagon get away with discharging?
Brezler was discharged for sharing this information that the Afghan police officer was a bad man. He warned his friend to stay away from him because he’s dangerous. Two weeks later, one of his sex slaves killed three Marines.
Did the Pentagon admit they made a mistake in not heeding Maj. Brezler’s warnings? No. They charged him with misusing classified information – for trying to warn others – and discharged him from the military.
This past week, Congress was gearing up to pass a resolution to get the Army to reinstate Sgt. Charles Martland. The Army caved before Congress had the chance to vote. Now, the resolution has fallen from the agenda.
But it wasn’t just about saving Martland. H.Res. 451 was about stopping the Obama administration from punishing military men and women for taking legitimate moral stands.
It is ludicrous to discharge a man for shoving a confessed child rapist, just like it is ludicrous to dishonorably discharge a man for warning others to stay away from an Afghan who keeps child sex slaves on base.
What the Obama administration is doing is shameful. They are purging the military and using slight blemishes as excuses to discharge American heroes like Sgt. Martland and Maj. Brezler.
We just had a great victory but now is NOT the time to rest on our laurels!
Obama is doubling down on purging the military! FaxBlast Congress and tell them to STOP Obama from accelerating his plans to kick these American heroes out of the service!
Sincerely,
Joe Otto
