MUTH’S TRUTHS
I continue to say the only way Republicans have a prayer of
winning in November is a Donald Trump-Ted Cruz ticket. And, sorry Cruzers, not the other way around.
The problem for Cruz is that he’s in second place and his appeal
is primarily with strong conservative evangelicals, a decided minority when it
comes to the general election electorate.
Plus, after his expected win in Wisconsin, his support has
actually dropped, not bounced. The
latest FOX News poll shows Trump’s support increasing from 41% to 45%
nationally, while Cruz’s support has dropped from 38% to 27%.
As for polls that today show Cruz faring better than Trump
against Hillary, bear in mind those polls are being taken today. The minute he’d become the GOP nominee the
media would turn on him like the proverbial rabid dogs they are, and his slim
current leads would spontaneously vaporize.
If you don’t want Hillary
Clinton elected president in November, there’s only one path to victory for
Republicans: Trump-Cruz. And the sooner everyone
(especially Kasich!) accepts that reality, the sooner we can stop shooting at
each other and focus our attention on the REAL threat.
Cheers.

NEVADA NEWS & VIEWS
(Chuck Muth) – Nevada’s 2016 GOP presidential caucus is in the
history books. And the various county
conventions have concluded. So all
that’s left is the Nevada Republican Party convention in Reno next month before
voters cast their ballots in the June primary.
And delegates at that convention will again have to decide
whether to take a leadership role in the nomination process or stand on the
sidewalk and watch the parade go by.
