Despite the old guard and amateur pundits blaming Donald Trump and the majority of GOP voters who support him, much of the rift in the Republican Party has been caused by Texas Senator Ted Cruz conning nationalists into believing he is one of them. Republican voters, many of whom have supported the GOP for decades and been repeatedly taken for granted by the establishment, deserve better. They need to know that Cruz is an establishment globalist who has already sold the American worker down the river by voting for the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
Cruz is a clever snake oil salesman. He’s a Harvard
guy with ties to Wall Street and secret loans from Goldman Sachs and
backing from the Bushes, who managed to ride the Tea Party wave into
office and trick people into thinking he’s a principled small-government
conservative. His campaign accounts are bulging with oil and gas money.
And like the Bushes, he wants to kill the American economy with global
trade deals that benefit our competitors and erode American sovereignty.
House
Bill #2146 became the Trojan horse for passing Trade Promotion
Authority (TPA) for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal more
than a year ago. HR2146 was originally introduced in the House to remedy problems with law enforcement and firefighter retirement funds.
In
April of 2015, Senator Ted Cruz and House Ways and Means Chair Paul
Ryan supported TPA being added to HR2146. In fact, they penned an op-ed
in the Wall Street Journal on April 22, 2015, which painted a picture of
it as the savior of American labor and commerce.
On June 4th 2015
the Senate passed the House bill with an amendment adding TPA (thanks
to Ted Cruz) and Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA, needed for Elizabeth
Warren coalition) by unanimous consent thereby avoiding a roll vote on
record. This has allowed Cruz to pretend he didn’t support it, until
now.
Donald Hank comments: It boggles my mind that anyone who has lived through the Bush years
could even THINK of supporting globalist Cruz, whose career was started
as a Bush operative. Don Hank
