BIG WEEK FOR “THE DONALD”
Not all endorsements are created equal. Some mean more than others because they
actually bring votes with them. With
that in mind, Donald Trump had a
heckuva week this past week.
The big news, of course, is that Sarah Palin endorsed him in Iowa.
The media loathes Palin “with the white hot intensity of a thousand
suns.” Many conservatives - the kind of
conservatives who vote in primaries; “tea party” conservatives - still love
her.
Trump also chalked up the endorsement of Aissa Wayne, daughter of legendary
actor John Wayne who declared that
if her dad was with us today, he’d be backing Trump.
Mrs. Wayne doesn’t carry the same weight as Palin with today’s
conservative movement, but you can bet every other candidate in the race would
love to have their campaigns tied to “The Duke,” even indirectly.
And lastly, although it wasn’t a direct endorsement, Jerry Falwell Jr. came to Trump’s
defense with hard-core social/religious conservatives by making the point that
we’re electing a president of the United States, not a Sunday school teacher
and that Trump has demonstrated he’s a good person.
That argument will carry a lot weight with a lot of social
conservative voters.
Contrast that with Marco
Rubio, who has been trotting out endorsements of elected politicians, many
of whom are clearly part of the GOP “insider” establishment which has been part
of the problem, not the solution.
Cheers!

The One Thing You Should Learn From Donald Trump
In an interview with CNN, Tea Party activist Scottie Hughes pinpointed the one thing Donald Trump and Sarah Palin could teach almost every marketer: How to reduce complicated issues to hashtags.Said Hughes: “[Palin] has these great catchphrases, these great catchlines, these great hashtags that trend. And that’s something that Mr. Trump is good at as well — sitting there and taking a large issue and putting it down to just a key phrase that people repeat days after the statement is made.”What complex idea should you simplify to a hashtag? #MarketingMatters.

FAMOUS LAST WORDS
"I seem to be the target of most of his (Donald Trump’s)
attacks. I don’t know why he's so
worried about me. Maybe he thinks I'm a
real threat to him, because I am. I'm
the only guy who has taken him on." – Jeb Bush in NewsMax interview
