Trump Fires Campaign Adviser, Vows to “stay in” Race, Promises To Destroy DC Machine....
by sundance
Many
people don’t like him, an entire professional apparatus needs to see
him removed, because what Donald Trump is doing is the beginning of what
needs to be done. Tear down the entire construct of the Professional Political Class in Washington DC..... and people are catching on.
For
those who are on the fence; those watching the blood sport of politics
for the first time; or those who are unfamiliar with Reagan’s 1978
insurgency, it might seem disconcerting to have a CEO move in and begin
to destroy decades of political self interest.
Fear not, and remember – WHAT IS THERE TO LOSE?
Unless the entire construct is torn up, you will have Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush on your ballot choice
in November 2016. Hillary because that’s what the Dem’s want, Jeb
because that’s what the GOP want – Both because that’s what Wall Street wants.
As a consequence, while you are sitting in the coliseum observing the bludgeoning, comfort yourself in the knowledge there’s nothing to lose here. There is no downside.
If
Trump and the Trumpeters are unsuccessful – you’ve still got Hillary
and Jeb to vote for, which is the exact same outcome you would have if
the wrecking never began.
ATLANTA — Republican
presidential candidate Donald Trump has ended his relationship with
Roger Stone, his longest-serving political adviser and a controversial
consultant, and says that he is moving quickly to surround himself “only
with the best people” as his 2016 campaign deals with a wave of
criticism over disparaging remarks the GOP front-runner made Friday on CNN about Fox News Channel anchor Megyn Kelly.
Dismissing
calls for him to leave the race, Trump, in a series of phone
interviews with The Washington Post, said he firmly believes he can
capture the White House without the support of the Republican
establishment, which has grown increasingly hostile toward the
real-estate mogul. He cited his support among frustrated members of the
GOP’s base as well the “millions of people everywhere” who are unhappy
with the political class as his coalition.
“I have a lot of money and I’m not getting out. I’m going to win,”
Trump said. “You watch, when this campaign is over, I win. As good as
I’m doing, and I’m leading the polls, it’s just the start.”
“I
terminated Roger Stone last night because he no longer serves a useful
function for my campaign,” Trump added. “I really don’t want publicity
seekers who want to be on magazines or who are out for themselves. This
campaign is not about them. It’s about victory and making America great
again.”
For
decades, Stone has been a colorful and at times maligned figure in the
Republican Party who relishes political combat and playing a role in
causing or exposing unseemly scandals. “Politics with me isn’t theater,”
Stone once told the Weekly Standard. “It’s performance art. Sometimes,
for its own sake.” (read more)
Donald Trump Says He Fired Campaign Strategist
Dave Urbanski The Blaze
Apparently tension had been brewing between Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and his longtime campaign strategist for some time — and then after Thursday’s GOP debate, things reportedly boiled over and now Roger Stone is gone.
The question is: Who cut the ties?
Washington Post national political reporter Robert Costa broke the news Saturday via Twitter that Stone got the “you’re fired” treatment from Trump:
Trump
said Stone might offer a different version of events: Indeed Stone
did have a different take, telling Costa he “fired Trump.”
“Unfortunately,
the current controversies involving personalities and provocative media
fights have reached such a high volume that it has distracted attention
from your platform and overwhelmed your core message ...” Stone’s
resignation letter obtained by MSNBC read. “... With this current direction of the candidacy, I no longer can remain involved in your campaign.”
Costa noted that Trump and Stone had been at odds for a while, and then after things “flared” following the debate, their relationship ended the next day.
While Trump has been tearing into Fox News host Megyn Kelly since the debate, Stone took part in a Twitter war with the network’s very own Geraldo Rivera a few days ago.
Costa also said Trump won’t apologize for his Kelly comments, insisted he wouldn’t leave the race and that Fox News needs him:
