Dear Conservatives,
The Obama Labor Board's recent declaration of war against all 25 state Right to Work
laws is just the latest in a long line of union-boss power grabs rammed through the federal bureaucracy.
You may remember the ambush elections scheme the Obama Labor Board pushed through late last year.
With free legal aid from National Right to Work Foundation
staff attorneys, three construction workers have joined a federal
lawsuit
challenging the ambush elections rules.
Make
no mistake, the changes to union
certification election rules are a major part of Big Labor's "Plan B" to
sneak through the bureaucratic backdoor what they haven't been able
to push through Congress, like the Card Check Forced Unionism Bill.
This
power-grab makes
union organizing campaigns even more one-sided and stifles the rights of
employees who may oppose unionization in their workplace.
Union operatives will be able to ambush workers with quick-snap elections just days after
union organizers turn in "union authorization cards" from a mere 30 percent of the workforce.
And to make it even easier for union operatives to steamroll
their way into workplaces, the new rules will force companies to hand
over to
union organizers the name, address, phone number, email address, and
shift schedule of each employee, exposing workers to "home visits" and
other intimidation tactics.
The new rules allow union bosses to withdraw their petition but
save the personal contact information of each worker for a full-scale "card check" campaign at a later date.
By joining the lawsuit, the Foundation-assisted
workers are able to make arguments about how this scheme affects
individual
workers, arguments that might otherwise go unheard in court.
Together
with their scheme to
gut all 25 state Right to Work laws, the ambush elections scheme is part
of a deliberate strategy to remake American labor law to further
entrench
union-boss power over workers.
The ambush elections scheme is designed to make it easier for
union bosses to force more workers into dues-paying ranks against their will.
The attack on Right
to Work laws is their latest attempt to make it more difficult for
independent-minded workers to get out from under Big Labor's thumb.
And I'm afraid the Obama Labor Board's all-out assault on individual workers may only intensify in the
twilight of the Obama presidency.
The battle against Big Labor and their government
enablers
over the next two years will take place in the courts, and your
Foundation will be at the center of it with your continued support.
Sincerely,
Mark Mix
