Friends,
We have big hearings
Wednesday and Thursday, and I need your
help to come support our bills. Both hearings are being heard in the
Assembly
Judiciary Committee at 8am. If
you can’t be there, you can watch online by clicking here, then
clicking Assembly Judiciary, and if you can’t be there, you
can still contact members of the committee and urge them to support these
bills. Click
here to find the Assembly Judiciary Committee members.
Wednesday we will
hear a bill that will protect the 2nd Amendment rights of foster parents. A
constituent brought this bill to me; we
should never require someone to choose between their rights and helping to
support
young people who need a home. This bill does require that firearms be
securely
stored or carried concealed.
Thursday we will
hear campus carry, which I’m calling
“Amanda’s Law”. We’ve talked a lot about campus
carry, click
here to read about it; however, it’s important to note that this
bill will not just apply to
college campuses; this bill will change Nevada law to allow you to carry
your
concealed firearm in any public building that doesn’t have a metal
detector.
Now is the time to
voice your support of these bills. Your
emails and phone calls can make a difference. Let’s work together to
pass some
great legislation this year.

Yours truly,
