THE FIRST GAFFE OF THE 2016 PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN
"'Don't let anybody tell you it's corporations and businesses create jobs,' Clinton said.
"'You know that old theory, 'trickle-down economics,' she continued. 'That has been tried, that has failed. It has failed rather spectacularly.'
"'You know, one of the things my husband says when people say 'Well, what did you bring to Washington,' he said, 'Well, I brought arithmetic,' Clinton said, which elicited loud laughs from the crowd."
Perhaps Mrs. Clinton thinks jobs are created by magic and delivered to people by a stork.
HOW THE MEDIA DEFENDS OBAMA
"Attkisson continued her dogged reporting through the launch of ObamaCare: She's the reporter who brought the public's attention to the absurdly small number - six - who managed to sign up for it on day one.
"'Many in the media,' she writes, 'are wrestling with their own souls: They know that ObamaCare is in serious trouble, but they're conflicted about reporting that. Some worry that the news coverage will hurt a cause that they personally believe in. They're all too eager to dismiss damaging documentary evidence while embracing, sometimes unquestioningly, the Obama administration's ever-evolving and unproven explanations.'
"One of her bosses had a rule that conservative analysts must always be labeled conservatives, but liberal analysts were simply 'analysts.' 'And if a conservative analyst's opinion really rubbed the supervisor the wrong way," says Attkisson, 'she might rewrite the script to label him a 'right-wing' analyst.'" Liberal media bias isn't just alive and well -- it's part of the business plan.
FEC DEMOCRATS TARGET DRUDGE, POLITICAL BLOGS
". . . a key Democrat on the Federal Election Commission called for burdensome new rules on Internet-based campaigning, prompting the Republican chairman to warn that Democrats want to regulate online political sites and even news media like the Drudge Report.
"Democratic FEC Vice Chair Ann M. Ravel announced plans to begin the process to win regulations on Internet-based campaigns and videos, currently free from most of the FEC's rules. 'A reexamination of the commission's approach to the internet and other emerging technologies is long over due,' she said.
"The power play followed a deadlocked 3-3 vote on whether an Ohio anti-President Obama Internet campaign featuring two videos violated FEC rules when it did not report its finances or offer a disclosure on the ads. The ads were placed for free on YouTube and were not paid advertising."
The Left's war on the free speech of conservatives continues. . .
ANOTHER BIG OBAMACARE LIE
". . . a new study from the well-respected and non-partisan National Bureau of Economic Research (and published by Brookings Institution), overcomes the limitations of. . . prior studies by examining what happened to premiums in the entire non-group market. The bottom line? In 2014, premiums in the non-group market grew by 24.4% compared to what they would have been without Obamacare. Of equal importance, this careful state-by-state assessment showed that premiums rose in all but 6 states (including Washington DC)."
The more we see Obamacare in action, the worse – and more expensive -- it becomes.
GANGSTER GOVERNMENT
"The early-morning paramilitary-style raids on citizens' homes were conducted by law enforcement officers, sometimes wearing bulletproof vests and lugging battering rams, pounding on doors and issuing threats. Spouses were separated as the police seized computers, including those of children still in pajamas. Clothes drawers, including the children's, were ransacked, cellphones were confiscated and the citizens were told that it would be a crime to tell anyone of the raids.
"Some raids were precursors of, others were parts of, the nastiest episode of this unlovely political season, an episode that has occurred in an unlikely place. This attempted criminalization of politics to silence people occupying just one portion of the political spectrum has happened in Wisconsin, which often has conducted robust political arguments with Midwestern civility."
Behind the battering rams and SWAT teams stands a Milwaukee County's Democratic district attorney, John Chisholm, who has decided to take Walker down for daring to stand up to Wisconsin's public employee unions:
". . . Chisholm told subordinates that his wife, a teachers union shop steward at her school, is anguished by her detestation of Walker's restrictions on government employee unions, so Chisholm considers it his duty to help defeat Walker."
And he went about it the old-fashioned way:
". . . bombarding Walker supporters with raids and subpoenas: Instead of raising money to disseminate their political speech, conservative individuals and groups, harassed and intimidated, have gone into a defensive crouch, raising little money and spending much money on defensive litigation. Liberal groups have not been targeted for their activities that are indistinguishable from those of their conservative counterparts."
This is the definition of gangster government. And as we are seeing, the Left is more determined than ever to use every ounce of state power to silence and even imprison the advocates of freedom and liberty.
