AMERICAN ENERGY ALLIANCE - EPA FOLLOWING OBAMA'S ORDER TO INCREASE ENERGY PRICES

Dear Conservatives ,

Don’t blink or you’ll miss another power plant closure.

According to a report from our sister organization, the Institute for Energy Research, due to EPA regulations a record 72 GW of power have already or is scheduled to be shut down.

That’s enough to reliably power 44.7 million homes, or every home in every state west of the Mississippi River, excluding Texas!

The report also found that:

• Since IER’s original report in October 2011, an additional 44.4 GW of reliable coal-fired power have either closed or are now scheduled to close.
• There are now 37 states with projected power plant closures – up from 30 in 2011.
• The top 5 hardest hit states by generating capacity are: Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Kentucky, and Georgia.
• Most of these retirements will come from coal-fired power plants, shuttering over one-fifth of the U.S.’s coal-fired generating capacity.

So who’s really responsible for these drastic closures and why?

Well back in 2008 when President Obama said that under his plan electricity prices would “necessarily skyrocket” he wasn’t kidding.

With the support of groups like the Sierra Club and their “Beyond Coal” campaign, President Obama’s energy plan will needlessly pick the pockets of hard working Americans in the form of higher electricity prices.

Even worse is that these higher electricity prices will inflict the most harm on the elderly, the poor, those on fixed incomes, business, families, schools, and hospitals.

But at the American Energy Alliance we will not stand for that!

With your support we will EXPOSE Obama and his EPA.

We will EDUCATE millions of Americans with the facts.

And we will work to END these efforts that threaten the reliability of our grid and will cost thousands of Americans their jobs.
