MISSOURI - SHOP IN FERGUSON THURSDAY, 08/21/2014 - IGNORE THE TAKERS!

Will You Shop With Me?

For Ferguson, Faith, Healing, and Free Markets

I stuck my neck out, and you have no reason to help me.

I watched the events in Ferguson, like you did. My emotions were all over the place. I was mad that a young man died. I was mad that the police weren't ready. I was mad the police seemed eager for more confrontation. I was mad that evil looters smashed windows and stole things. I was mad that the feds threw good St. Louis County law enforcement under the bus. I was mad that no one seemed to know what to do. I was mad that reporters were arrested--and that other reporters weren't.

And there's mad, angry people all over St. Louis.

But people in Ferguson need to live. And businesses in Ferguson are struggling to survive.

We can't bring back Michael Brown. We can't do much for Darren Wilson. We can't fix all the anger in all the hearts. We have to know our limits.

But we need stuff, just like the people who live and shop in Ferguson. But many of their stores are damaged.

So here's what I'm going to do. Dan H. told me that many of the damaged stores are still open. They have plywood on the windows, but spray-painted on the plywood is "OPEN."

Many people might be afraid to go into those stores, but I can't be.

Okay, I am scared. I admit it. But I'm going, anyway.

Thursday, August 21, 2014 beginning at 5:00 pm, I'm going shopping in Ferguson.

I know I'll be fine. But I'm still a little nervous. If you don't want to go, that's fine. But if you do you, I'd be so happy for you company.

Please join me. Watch hennessysview.com for details over the next two days. We'll meet, we'll shop, and we'll go somewhere for conversation.
I can't guarantee your safety. No one can. But I can promise this: you'll have helped someone in your community who needs you. Someone who did nothing to deserve what's happened in the past week.

Thank you and God bless you,
